Mine is a 425 - I love it - when you press the on switch the light comes on and off. Is there somewhere I can get it fixed or do you know where I can get another one.

MINE IS LIKE THAT. PRESS FOR STEAM WHICH CONTINUES FOR A SHORT WHILE. BUT IT IS A PAIN AND TGHERE IS NO WAY I HAVE FOUND ROUNBD IT EXCEPT A SPRAY BOTTLE WITH WATER!
I just fixed mine - it had exactly the same problem.
First, though, check it's not within the Bosch TWO year guarantee; if it is, they'll either fix or replace it.
If it's not under guarantee then the problem is probably the rubber tubing that connects the external steam tube to the hotplate. You'll need to dismantle the iron. Mine had split right next to the spring clip that holds it on. I shortened it, clipped it back on and all is now well.
i know mine won't steam either unless you have the dial set to steam. not sure if your has the same set up but i thought it might help to offer the information
The thermostat is the problem, I used aew3656's
solution posted elsewhere in FixYa, and took care of the same problem on my
steamer, just take
out the damaged thermostat and use it as a sample to get a new one from
any electronics supply store, BTW don't forget to buy thermal grease, it
helps dissipate the heat so your steamer won't overheat, and the
thermostat wont't go off every 2mins.
Switch light goes on when pressed but goes off if... OR iron does not heat at all even pressing the button to turn it on continually.
Don't understand which one question you are asking
But if there is no heat at all after switching it on, it needs to go to iron heaven but be sure to cut the plug of the end, Saftey reasons at the dump. BUT if lights are coming on the iron is working. the large dial on the water filler is temperature control. Turn this around to cotton or linen.
The light will come on and off while in use, it allows you to know that the iron has cooled and is going back to your select temperature( on the large dial)
Make sure that you use water in the iron as it will aid your ironing and make it quicker. Make sure that the iron temperature dial on the water filler is at the correct temperature for the item that you are ironing.
Hope this helps
you have probably solved this by now but I just got the same model new switch on instructions as follows press and HOLD the POWER button for 3 seconds to switch the unit on once temperature has been reached, press and HOLD the steam button on top of the iron for up to 20 seconds this will prime the steam pump and only has to be done once for each ironing session the pump noise will stop once it has been primed with water hope this helps if still needed if you need the user guide, let me know, I'll scan it for you Wendy
I posted a similar fix under Rowenta DG-980 troubleshooting section. You may be able to pry off the soft rubber cover and access the switch assy and initiate a "surgical procedure".564568
Are you working on another iron similar to the DG-980 posting elsewhere on the FixYa website?
As for the Rowenta manufacturer, you can "Google" the Rowenta website at http://www.google.com typing in Rowenta and looking specifically for the Rowenta home website to get manuals, PDF reader and other good stuff. Please advise if your problem is fixed. I'm in SoCal and been to the UK only once.
It appears that your rocker switch is broken, I am attempting to find a source for the switch and the screw driver that removes the screws holding the unit together
