There are 2 little black tabs at the botton of the back that you have to remove, behind these there are 2 screws u remove, and flip the ariel up and there are 2 screws under there you remove also.

The body is clicked together use a guitar pick, ur fingernails or small scewdriver to seperate the 2 sections.

Inside you will see a few screws holding the systemboard down, if need unscrew them.

you will see the battery its stuck onto the system board... be carefull seperating it,.. use a flat intrument or a butter knife to work it of the board ( its stuck on with double-sided tape or some kind of silicon)..

unplug it,

plug your new battery in.. BONGO

Let me know how you go.

cheers
plato

Undo 4 screws. 2 under GPS reciever flap and two underneath black screw caps (just pull these off).

Then slide something thing under edge and pull quite sharply. (its clipped on so you need to give it a tidy pull)

Won't Charge

You need to change the battery. It is not a fun thing to do. Do a word search for Navman PIn 570 Replacement battery either on Google or Ebay. You have to disassemble the unit to get to the battery that is taped to the unit's motherboard. There are hidden screws on the back of the unit, then you have to gently pry the 2 halves off. Big Heads up here: the round dial on the left side...be sure to tape that in place when you first disassemble the unit, otherwise it falls out into 2 or three pieces...that dial is a pain to get back together if you do not tape it.

I recently replaced the battery on my unit. There are two additional screws on the back of the unit, near the bottom in addition 2 screws under the flip up antenna. They are covered by small black plastic discs which need to be pried off first. After removing the rear cover with a knife edge (or similar) there are several other screws which attach the circuit board to the front of the unit which need to be removed. Note that the one near the edge should only be loosened, and the board slid out sideways. Once this has been done you should be able to access the battery which needs to be pried off the board, as it is attached with an adhesive patch.

(If the battery is totally dead it takes about a day before the charge led starts flashing.)

Battery replacement navman icn530

Remove the 2 small screws and use a tiny flat screwdriver and insert it by where the screws came out and twist. It is clipped down with a series of plastic flanges which can be popped with a twist in between the front and rear case. You need to work your way around the case doing the side with the earphone jack last as the cover needs to slide slightly sideways to slip off. Don't be afraid to use gentle pressure as they will pop apart and wont break

Info on fitting a new battery to Navman PiN570

Remove SD card and place the Navman on a soft surface face down so that you do not scratch the LCD screen. - Take out 4 screws ONLY. 2 under the gps antenna and two hidden black discs at either side of the bottom on back of unit,Make sure you use a small Philips screwdriver.
- Use your finger nail very carefully around the edges, go extremely slow to detach the cover. Once it opens, make sure of the Power switch button, they seem to fall off.
- Remove clear tapes at the battery connector. DO NOT pull up the connector, you need to pull sideways and make sure do not use excessive pressure while pulling.
- Place the new battery in same manner and also place battery cables neatly so that the do not come in the way while closing the cover. The LCD display should turn on. If it does not, look at the Battery connector and make sure it is all the way in.
- Put the cover back slowly and then make sure nothing is dangling along the edges. Do not forget to check the Power Switch button; it should be in proper place. Press the cover firmly, it should snap in place.
- Charge the battery fully before using Navman.
- Insert SD card. You may need to reload Navman application software or restore from SD card, if you stored on the SD card previously.
