Here are the max memory and speeds:
Lat C640 is Max 512M per stick DDR-266 (PC2100) or DDR333 ( PC2700 ) for a total of 1024 Meg

Lat D520 is either 2 or 4 Meg total. DDR2-667 ( PC2-5300 )
Although the memory can be installed one module at a time, the best performance comes from using matched pairs of modules.Maximum memory for systems with the Intel 945GM chipset is 4096MB, maximum memory with the Intel 940GML chipset is 2048MB
Lat D430 has only slot with a Max of 1 Meg. You can use DDR2-667 (PC2-5300)  or DDR2-533 (PC2-4200)

Lat D420 is a max of  1.5G    . Use 1GB DDR2-533 (PC2-4200)

Inspiron 2200 is one slot with a max of 1280 Meg. recomended is 1GB DDR-333 (PC2700)

Here is a link to find almost any memory you need:
http://www.crucial.com/index.aspx

NOTE:
When mixed speeds in the same PC, the memory will run at the slowest speed installed or the highest speed allowed by your system, whichever is slower.

Good Luck

I have pc p4 3.06 intel processor and i hav now DDR1 RAM in my pc can i use ddr2 ram by removing ddr1 ram will my motherboard support ddr2 ram

Sorry but you cannot interchange ddr1 for ddr2. They are different kinds of RAM, and your chipset (865GV) can only accept ddr1. If you want to use ddr2, or even ddr3 then upgrade to a newer motherboard.

Will this motherboard handle ddr2 ram and if so how much?

As this is an older board, it will not support DDR2 ram, With the older 462 motherboards, I'd guess the max ram it would take is 2GB of DDR1 ram, probably up to DDR 400 speed

2 different size ddr,512mb-and 1gb.will this be a problem

The answer for your question is: No this won't create problem, but the DDR RAM should mathch on your Notebook slot.

Reason: There are different types of DDR available according to the evolution.

DDR1, DDR2 and DDR3
You can't put in DDR1 ram in DDR2/DDR3 and vice versa.

So If it match on your notebook motherboard then it won't create problem.

My mother boaard has written ddr1 and ddr2 near the ram slot. Is it pssible to put ddr2 ram? before it had ddr1 ram

It's not because DDR1 ram slot Motherboard are created only for DDR1.
DDR2 are the newest design of memory module by a new MOBO.

There is no Motherboard that are design with two kinds of Memory Slot DDR1 & DDR2.

I never that before.

Can i use ddr2 ram in my pc inplace od ddr1 i cn purchase pc 07?

Hey there, Check for the slots given on your motherboard, whether all the slots are same; However a motherboard can support only one type of module either DDR1 or DDR2. your motherboard has only DDR1 slots. You cannot upgrade DDR1 to DDR2 cause the Memory Module or notches are different than eachother. Gimme Acknowladgement by rating me. Thanx - Romy Decostza
