My Dell 924 printer will not load paper correctly. You have to put one sheet in at a time, and even then it's a gamble if it will print out or not. Help, I'm taking an online class and I need to be able to print out lecture notes and handouts. I can't afford another printer. Please help. Thanks, Nicole Radman
Make sure the printer is not jammed. Mine was jammed last week and I couldnt tell because it was a very small piece of paper. Once I figured that out everything worked fine.

Dont know what you have already tried but first off verify that you are loading paper to the correct tray. Now this tray is going to have a switch located toward the feeder that tells the printer paper is loaded make sure the paper is back far enough but not to the point where you are forcing the paper into the feeder. If all this still doesnt work try reseting the printer and printing a test page. Hope this helps.
Remove the paper and make sure it's not curled or wrinkled.
Fan the stack to make sure the sheets are separated.
Open the paper support and pull up the extension.
Extend the output tray.
Flip the feeder guard forward. Squeeze the edge guide and slide it left.
Insert paper, printable side up and short edge first, against the right side and beneath the tab.
You can load up to 100 sheets of 20 lb plain paper or up to 20 sheets of photo paper.
Slide the edge guide to the edge of the paper, but not too tightly.
Follow these guidelines when loading paper:
Do not load paper above the arrow on the edge guide.
If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the sheet feeder, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it.
If you're printing on both sides of the paper, try loading fewer sheets.
If it's wrinkled when it ejects, the paper may be damp or too thin.
Do not load paper with holes punched in it for insertion in a binder.
Load the printable side face-up. It's often brighter or whiter than the other side.
Load letterhead or preprinted paper top edge first.
If you experience paper feeding problems, try loading fewer sheets.
If you're using special paper, check the package for special loading instructions.
Follow these steps to reload paper in the Automatic Document Feeder:
Remove the paper and make sure it's not curled or wrinkled.
Tap the originals on a flat surface to even the edges.
Move the edge guides outward.
Insert the originals face-up. You can load up to 30 letter-size sheets at a time. If you load legal-size sheets, insert only 10 sheets at a time. Make sure the originals are not creased or folded and do not have tape, staples, or other materials that could obstruct the feeder.
Open the access door on the back side of the printer to remove the jam.I once used some paper that always went into my printer two or more sheets at a time, causing a jam.I flipped the paper over ,then it would load a sheet at a time.Hope this helps?
Below are the various sizes and types of paper supported by your printer. Make sure you donnot load the tray beyond the maximum limit , otherwise the rollers may not pull the paper correctly
• Letter* • Legal • B5 • A4 • A5 • 3x6 • 4x6 • L • 2L • 5x7 • Hagaki • 10x15 cm • 13x18 cm 25 greeting cards, index cards, postcards, or photo cards • The print side of the cards faces up. • The cards are centered on the paper support, in between the left and right paper guides. • The paper guide rests against the left edge of the cards. • You select Normal or Photo print quality. 25 sheets of photo or glossy paper • The glossy side of the paper faces up. • The paper is centered on the paper support, in between the left and right paper guides. • You select Normal or Photo print quality. • The paper is loaded vertically against the right side of the paper support. 10 iron-on transfers • You follow the loading instructions on the packaging. • The blank side of the transfer faces up. • The transfer is centered on the paper support, in between the left and right paper guides. • You select Normal or Photo print quality. NOTE: For best results, iron-on transfers should be fed one sheet at a time. 50 transparencies • The rough side of the transparencies faces up. • The transparencies are centered on the paper support, in between the left and right paper guides. NOTE: You can load a single transparency into the paper support without removing plain paper. • You select Normal or Photo print quality
Clean the rollers down where the paper sets in the printer. Do not use cheap generic matte coated paper. Some generic matte coated paper will leave a film on your rollers and cause them to not grip the paper.
If not load a letter sized 8.5 x 11" inch sheet of paper or carstock in printer print somthing let paper get about halfway down in printer then uplug printer and plug it back up as it comes back on it will usally rotate rollers forcing the paper out if you used card stock this should be stiff enough to force the smaller paper out
you need to clean paper feed rollers with isopropanol alcohol on a microfiber towel or get a sheet of cardstock to print on as it prints it will force out any foriegn material
To correct paper feed function make sure feed sensor lever isnt broken
