I lost the remote to my duraband television, and bout a universal remote to program it,but it still cant be operated with the remote so that i can switch it from the TV function to video to watch DVDs

Depending on the brand of universal remote.. you can do a manual code search.. here goes:

- Turn on the device being programmed (example DVD)
- Point the remote (universal) to the device being programmed
- press code search (to search for codes)
- press (DVD) button on universal remote.. to program dvd device
- now press the Power button (universal remote) until the dvd player turns OFF. (you may have to press the Power button several times maybe even more than 25 - 30 times until unit powers off.
- when unit powers off > press enter button on universal remote to save the code to the universal remote.

Without its remote control, you can't select its AV channel. Just try to get a new remote control or buy a universal remote control, which have setup codes for Duraband Tv with it.
Setup codes for Duraband are:
0189 0135 0157 0153 0254 0458 0217
Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

Lost original remote to my 20" Duraband tv n cant get any universal remote to program to it. is there a code for it?
Durabrand codes are very difficult to find, only few codes are public, as this manufacturer is not listed on universal remotes user manuals.
You can find few codes on discussion groups, often they do not work. The requests usually stay unanswered:

HI I would suggest getting this universal remote, it is a Phillips Universal Digital 5 device remote, I have yet to find any device this remote will not operate, it is simply outstanding! it is a Model PHDVD5, and WalMart should have it, not too expensive but its worth its weight in gold! just follow the instructions in the manual for "Programing with Code Search" Page #12, goodluck:)

Durabrand model BH2004D
I am not sure about Direct TV but dish network does not allow the hookup to go through their box...it must go through the TV only. Speaking with Duraband at 1-800-256-2487 confirms you have to have a Duraband remote and universals won't program to it. Ask for parts dept. and order a new remote. Sorry - not good news for me either!!!

My Vizio D32f-F1 TV won't turn on. Any suggestions? The LED does not turn on or even blink. I opened it up and found no obvious visual problem or smell. I disconnected the two cables from the power board ADTVI1206XA7 and with AC coming to the board I found 12V at the 8-pin connector, but not 5V. I figured the power board was bad probably wrong and installed a replacement board, which did not change any of this. With the cables attached to the replacement power board, cycling the power switch on/off did not change anything--doesn't turn on, no LED/no blink.
