Baillie,
The filter is a matter of personal preference. Your monitor itself doesnt need it.
If you get a lot of eyestrain while working on your computer, then it will help you.

My Proview Technology 15' tft is fluctuating from last week...actually it is minor fluctuation..i tried to solve this problem by removing speakers form it's side but it doesnt effect this...

Magnet does not affect the LCD panel like the CRT monitor because LCD dose not use electron beams for display function.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Still flickering monitor Proview MA-782KC

Hello, Did you just resolder the capacitors? They need to be replaced not resoldered. When they start failing they can give exactly the type of problems you have, flickering or wavy picture, Slow display of picture when you power up monitor or very dark picture. Here is a link to an article that talks about replacing the capacitors and what you need to look for and what to replace; http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/capacitors/ If you have any questions please let us know at: [email protected]

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

My monitor does not work right. it says vga not support.. its a proview 17" flatscreen..active matrix tft lcd

I suspect your Computers Display settings need adjustments and or a Driver from Proview installed...therefor if you can get on the net, I would look at FAQ's on Proviews Website, i.e:

hope that helps,

Monitor 700 P proview TFT problem

Try changing out all of the capacitors on the power/inverter board first.
You probably do not have to change the large main one, Just the other ones.
It sounds like you have voltage but your amperage is not there. the 11.7 should probably be closer to 12.

I have a Proview MA-782KC 17" TFT Monitor and when I switch it on the green power light flashes but nothing is appearing on the screen. When it was working properly the green light remained aon all...

I`ve opened it up and there are several 470uF capacitors in the power circuitry which are obviously bulging, meaning they are in considerable distress. I am ordering some replacements and will fit them when they arrive and see if they get it working. I`ll let you know :)
By the way, I don`t recommend this for anyone not versed in this kind of repair. Messing about inside the power circuit of a monitor can KILL - even unplugged, unless you know what you are doing, so please take care.
