"HELLO" then turns off again, exactly what I'm seeing.

So is it as simple as getting a new 250GB drive or do you have to be able to extract data from the original drive?

Not worried about recorded data, but didn't want to buy a drive if there is OS on the drive.

Does the machine display "HELLO" for 30 seconds then power off again?
If so the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) has failed and needs replacing.

When i boot my computer on the windows screen it freezes i bought the TP45E combo Biostar motherboard

Try to remove the memory modules. Then try to switch the memory modules' positions in terms of slots. Example, if you have 2 RAM slots, RAM1 goes to RAM2 and vice versa.

I press the power switch on my Acer Aspire RC900 and PC shows up on the screen on the harddrive, however the computer won't boot. When I press the power button to turn it off, it won't switch off.

if it wont continue on the booting operation it may be a problem in your memory module.. try cleaning it first... and when you can switch the power on but cant turn it of you should look in the function panel (the pins on yuor mobo where your front panel is connected ) and check if the front panel connection is correct, if its correct your mobo is more likely to be grounded on the casing.

Computer not booting

reinstall xp but select repair but if this is a bios prob you must turn off then hold down f12, or f4, or f8 depending on your cpu. hold down till you hear a beep then read screen when u get to boot config dis able hdd and network boot and make sure its boot from c.d. or floppy only. and your back. u must in the future disconnect from the cpu app before you physially pull any plug or unistalls, when you dont it gives the mothers borad a mild stroke type thing or a long term daze or confusion type state.

TomTom Go 300

boot up failure / switching off part way through the boot up is usually caused by corrupted data or files on your SD card.
When booting up with faulty data the TomTom has 3 options
  1. Continue to boot up and run the errored software
  2. Boot up until a file cannot be correctly loaded then shut down
  3. Try to boot up but if not possible show a RED X on the screen
The other cause for shutting down is a partly charged battery but since you are running off a charger lead this cannot be the case .
So , with the above in mind , its most likely that you have corrupted SD card . The only ways to recover from this is to format and re-install from a backup of the card. OR , it might be possible to overwrite some files or folders from a similar "friends" card in the hope that you overwrite the correct / corrupted file. This is a longshot in the dark but is a possible cure.

Good luck

Nad turntable

the belt (aka rubber band) should be changed when it starts to slip
it is not whats causing the table to turn backwards. it's the motor or circut that drives the motor.
