My laptop has the case damaged and i need to replace it notthe part with the screen just the bottom 2 parts

Hi

Thank you for your query

Unfortunatley this is a massive job involving taking everything (and i really do mean everything apart)

This is something i would not recommned you do, it would be far to difficult to put this into words, so i would recommned that you take the laptop to a reputable PC shop to swap out for you

The casing can be bought relativley cheaply of ebay

My Acer 5100 can not connect to the Internet

You need to configure your router.
For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
http://192.168.0.1
or
http://192.168.1.1
If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Click on WAN settings and set those settings as your internet service provider settings.
If you need user name and password for connect to your service prtovider then configurayour router as PPPOe .
Enable DHCP if you want to get ip from router.
Click on wireless settings enable wireless then enable WEP Security then add WEP code .It isyour password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and restart router.

Acer notebook usb not recognized

Sounds like a hardware issue. I would guess that there is a bad connection between the usb's and the motherboard. If you are comfortable dismanteling the laptop and re-soldering the usb's than give that a try, but I would recomend you give it to a pro.
Here is a link that explains the process. http://www.insidemylaptop.com/taking-apart-acer-aspire-5100-laptop/

Aspire 5100

Sounds like both of you have what is called 'Microsoft Blue Screen Of Death' and is irreversible, but is fixable at the same time. If you need files on your computer then follow these instructions

  1. Turn on computer and Insert Windows XP Installation Disc that came with your computer
  2. Wait until it says 'Press any key to boot from CD....' and press any key
  3. Wait until it comes up with prompts and choose 'Install Windows XP
  4. Choose to install XP without formatting the hard drive and choose a made partition (C Drive) to install NTFS
  5. Install and now your system will be working again. You will be prompted from now on though which Operating System you would like to use. Always select the first one
  6. Enjoy
For if you want to erase the hard drive
  1. Follow steps 1 - 3 in above instructions
  2. Choose 'Format Hard Drive'
  3. Select create partition in Hard Drive and set it to the maximum space and call (C)
  4. Select NTFS and go through instructions
  5. You won't be asked to choose a OS as there is only one to choose from
  6. Enjoy
Hope This Helps
