Question about Pentax Optio 33L Digital Camera

Pentax Optio 33L on Vista

Hi, could anybody help me please?

I've got an Optio 33L which I cannot get my new computer to find - the setup CD does not work and it will not recognise it as a removable drive like my old computer would. I don't know if this is a Vista problem?

    I have a Pentax Optio 33L and my operating system is Vista. Is there any way possible to get Vista to recognize and successfully run the software needed to view pics from my camera?

    i have the same problem with installing the software too and my operating system is vista. i've tried to use the opt_slg_usb, but still didnt solve the problem. is there any other way to get this working???

    Same problem here and no apparent solution. It downloads the supposed new driver but then isn't clear what to instal and then gets confused with the epson scanner software.

Optio 33L and Vista

Plug camera into USB port using the cable supplied, and switch the camera on. Computer will display the "found new hardware" sign, and ask you to insert the disk that came with the 33L into the disk drive. That done, the drivers will be installed in the usual manner. AT LEAST, THAT'S HOW I DID IT - AND IT WORKS!

Sounds like you may need to go online to Pentax site and see if they have drivers for Vista.

Where can I purchase the USB cable for the pentax optio 33L?
Replacement cables can be purchased at stores like Walmart, Bestbuy, etc. Take your camera with you to get the correct size plug into your camera.

Tried installing using disk. however computor will not accept. Using Windows Vista

Windows vista not compatible with pentax optio 33l
If you're using an sd card or most other standard memory cards you can buy a card reader very cheaply and plug it into the usb of your computer, your computer may even have a reader built in

Actually, if you're using XP you should not need the disc at all to shoot & download images. If you're looking for software so you can crop & that sort of thing, I recommend googles Picasa program, its free. To download images without the disc simply connect the camera like you have in the past and XP will find the device & walk you thru downloading images, usually. If not, click on "my computer" and you should find your camera/device listed there. Personally, I use a card reader and take my memory card out and download the images using the reader.
