Well the printer is telling you to load "Legal Size paper, which is 8.5" X 14" paper.

More than likely, the application you are using is telling the printer to print the page on legal sized paper.

If you want the document to print on "Letter sized paper (8.5" X 11") then in the application, go to the File drop down and select "Page Setup". From within page setup's window, change the paper size to letter and then re-print the job.

HP Laser Jet 4 Plus + PC Load Legal

PC Load Legal means that the printer has been sent a print job formatted for legal size paper and that is not what is currently loaded into the printer's input tray. So, either change the paper to legal or cancel the job in the printer, reconfigure the document on the computer for letter (or whatever is loaded into your printer), and send the job again.

My printer won't print legal size documents. It keeps saying to load paper tray one but it won't fit in that file. What do I need to do?

pull the tray all the way out of the printer.

on the very back center of the tray there is a bluish button with an arrow on it.

Press the button in and pull back on the tray, and it will extend the length of the tray so you can put legal paper in.

Thanks and good luck!

Keeps saying "Load Tray". Trays are loaded.

I just had this problem when trying to print legal size paper. I figured it out on my own. When you pull the tray out you will see a white tab thing sticking out on both side of the bottom of the tray. If you press these it will release the paper and bring it up to a slant. Push the tray back in all the way and it will print legal size. Who knew? It didn't say anything about this in the owner's manual.

I HAVE LASERJET 4 PLUS. WHEN I GIVE JOB FOR PRINTING THE PRINTER DISPLAYS A MESSAGE AS PC LOAD LEGAL. PLS HELP ME IN SOLVING THE PROBLEM

The document you're trying to print is formatted for legal size paper, and the tray contains only letter size. if it's a legal size, put legal paper into the MP tray, or override the setting and manually select "letter size" in the printer dialog box.

Lanier 5645 cannot reset printer red button just keeps coming on

when you press the 'red' button, it probably says 'paper mismatch, or load "XXX" paper, and you can override it by selecting one of your paper trays manually? It is likely a "legal size document' and you don't have legal size paper loaded, or something along those lines. Try printing the document after manually selecting the paper size/tray (turning off auto paper select) in your printer preferences dialog box on your PC first.
