I will assume from your description that the projector is powered on and you can look in the rear vents and see the lamp illuminated, yet the light does not shine on the screen.
The Ektapro 9020 and most of the Ektagraphic line of projectors are equipped with a "dark shutter". What that does is keep the screen dark unless a slide drops into the gate. At that time the sensing circuits trigger and open the shutter, allowing light through the slide & onto the screen.

This is a mechanical problem.Look at the metal piece that contacts the slide when slide drops into place. You probably need to slightly bend a part of that piece so it releases the shutter.

The bulb is not bad, the bulb replacement light is not lit and the bulb appears fine- the green light goes on then off right after you start the projector ---no heat off the back of the unit when starting...

If you have the replaced lamp with you it will be good to place it back again to see the indication to change off.
If so then the bulb must be good but if the same situation comes on then it might be the lamp.
please cross check the power supply for any errors to switch on or low power to the lamp

Replaced both bulbs with brand-new bulbs. Now all

Verify that the lamp doors are securely closed. The blinking red lights indicate a lamp problem. In this case, both appear to be defective. I doubt that the lamps are the problem. double chack all connections and doors for proper seating. Update this if the problem remains.

Thanks,
Dan

I have a NEC mt1055 and the unit just had new bulb put in here and it has the power and standby light come on and the fan doesn't turn on here and the standby light is yellow and status is red

The NEC’s work on a reducing time basis, they count the hours that they have been operational and refer to this as the life of the bulb – 1600 hours. When the 1600 hours has been reached the projector shuts itself down into standby mode never to be restarted even after changing the bulb / filters. This is because the unit needs to be reset, which needs to be done as follows (not included in any of the bulb replacement instructions):-
  • Plug Projector in so it is in standby mode – Orange light lit, Red status light lit (not flashing)
  • Using the remote control, hold down the power off button for 30-45 seconds
  • This will reset the status button, removing the red light
  • Power up the projector and select Menu
  • Select Projector Options
  • Select Set-up – a number of tabs will appear called pages
  • Arrow across the pages (MT850 is Page 5) until an option called “RESET LAMP HOURS” is shown
  • Move onto this option and press enter on the projector itself, confirm that you want to reset the counter
  • Projector is now back to life

This works for all NEC projectors, the page number may be different though where the “RESET LAMP HOURS” option resides.

Lots of details: LP120 stays on for a minute, then powers off

either the colorwheel motor is not getting up to speed to sync with the dmd chip, the wheel sensor is going, or the power supply needs replacing. you can try to replace them yourself or send it to an infocus authorized service center. try www.avsolutionsny.com . they're pretty good.

I get a flash of light and then the projector turns itself off. I have replaced teh bulb but not result

the power supply is bad. the lamp will light, but once the dmd turns on (and the light starts to shine out), it's drains the power and shuts down the lamp. replace the power supply.

PROJECTOR POWERS DOWN

This would appear to be a bulb that has reached end of life -- or the projector thinks that it is because of hours. Usually most bulbs are 1000 or 2000 hours. Depending on your projector there are different ways of checking bulb life hours -- if you Google your projector model number and "bulb life" you will usually get a post on how to check these hours. Also, if it is a new bulb and you haven't reset the hours counter, it may need to be reset (however you also don't want to wait too long before changing a bulb that has reached EOL since they can and do explode sometimes taking out the projector with it).

NEC VT 470 projector won't work at all

Try pressing the HELP button. Don't release and press the power button. The LED lights should blink. Release then try to power on again.

My projector won't come on.

I answered this question many times. This is caused by a failed color wheel sensor. It faile gradually, first the lamp flickers, sometimes go dim for no good reason. Finally the lamp will not strike and you will get two red warning lights. I am factory trained and I stock the redesigned senor.
