Banked call? I have what I think is called a "banked call." I push the Msg button and it calls the phone down the hall; I can't get to the message.

This is what I wrote up for our inhouse manual on telephone administration for this phone:

Problem: An employee pushes the Message button to receive a message but it calls someone else's desk. This is caused by whichever extension the phone forwards to when pushing the Message light. For example: if the person at 333 pushes their blinking message light and it forwards to 316 that means that the person at 316 most likely tried to call 333, got a busy signal and accidentally pushed the Message button before hanging up thus setting 333 to call forward to their extension when they got off the phone.

All phones on our system should have this feature turned off, but if it happens this is the two step process to resolve the issue:

Solution: First, push the Message button to figure out which extension it is forwarding to. Take note of the extension and hang up. With the hand set NOT picked up, dial #409 and Release. You may have to do this multiple times to clear the call forwarding because it needs to be done for each incidence that the person accidentally set up call forward. Finally, in the management software go to Station > Station Assignments. Select the extension # that the Message button was forwarding to (the one you noted above). Under the Basic tab at #41 Active Message Waiting select Disable. Select Submit.

That show you have missed calls and messages on your phone so you have to click on the messages like wise calls to check the missed calls and messages you have on your phone

I think when you send text message it says message failed...right..???

This is because there is option in your mobile called as message service centre number.please check weather this number is correct.Call your service provider and you can get this number.

And also there is an option called as reply via same message centre please put this to 'NO'. now you can send messages

To go to this options please check follow these steps....
1.open 'menu'
2.open 'messages'
3.Go to 'message settings'
4.in that open 'text message'
5.there is an option called as 'message centre',please entre your new message centre number and save it. set this as your message centre
6.Check the option 'reply via same centre' and please put it to 'NO'

That will happen if your sister doesn't accept your call by pushing the button to accept you call, after a while it will automatically go to message bank, tell your sister to accept the call from you... if she is accepting it and its still not working then maybe its a yahoo connection problem

the reason the message button is calling another extension is because that extension turned your message light on. to turn off the message light either press the msg button and have the extension answer the call or press intercom #409. You'll have to that for each message recieved til the light goes out.

message centre number is incorrect. restore ur phone to factory settings . call ur customer care nd ask for the message centre number

Hi unfortunately you are going to have to program a softkey to be a MSG key, when you have done this press the MSG key and delete the message- you can then re-program back to the original button. the a780 handset only has the o2 network as default.
to have your phone run with another network sim card, you must call your phone company,ie t-mobile,orange,etc and explain to them you need the browser update msg sent to your handset for picture msgs and also ask for the internet browser update msg too.
when you get the browser msgs sent to your phone, open it and press the left green button, i think? it will give the option to update, you press update.

and all done, happy picture msg. andy. :0)

Try press ICM button # 3 and the ext number of that phone

I have a pretty good guess.... someone may have intercomed her phone from another station and then pressed the MSG key. This would leave an intercom message and should light up the message waiting light. Then when you press the MSG button you are returning the intercom call. If nobody ever answers the intercom call the return message will not be completed and it will continue to try and return the call whenever you press the button. SO... if this is the case you just need to have someone answer the other phone that is being called and it should start working the way you are used to again.
