Yes unplug the TV for 5 minutes and hold the menu button down while powering it up for 1 minute then release the button and press volume up 6 times followed by down volume key 4 times.

I HAVE A JVC AV-48P777 WITH SOUND AND NO PICTURE. WHAT CAN I DO DO TO SEE THE PICTURE AGAIN?

If you can also change channels then it's likely it's the T-Con board that has the fault. If you can replace it yourself then you need to make certain that the replacement is the same. Plus make certain the connectors are attached to the board.

I own a JVC tv model AV-48P777. I hear a weird noise when I tried to turn it on then smelled something burning

This model has a light box that can be removed for repairs--all the guts of the set except front keyboard and speakers come with it.

set still can be turned on to see----I would if working on it remove the box and do a very good inspection to see what burnt---could be as simple as a resistor or even a cap.

Let me know what you find.

JVC Model av 48p777 I adjust contrast knobs inside tv and now its still blinking and it shuts off like it gets too hot

Hi

Firstly, check for a blown fuse or circuit breaker or a power outage. There is a fuse on the inside back panel that is suspect which is located near the power entry to the back of TV. Some versions were socketed others soldered. If you have already tried hard reset (unplugging and plugging it back after 5-24hrs) and still the issue is not resolved then this is more likely a power supply failure. Most causes of TV failure are due to bad capacitors on either a system board or the power supply. In this case, it sounds like the power supply. You can test the capacitors with a capacitor tester to determine faulty capacitor. You can also test other components like power supply current with voltmeter or multi-tester. It can also be due to the protection circuit that is detecting excessive power or current drain by one of the sections of the TV. Could be the high voltage; could be the deflection circuits; could be the audio amplifier; could be the main power supply itself. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder the components.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
