All of a sudden my Honeywell HZ-680 heater is not heating up. The light switches are both lit but no heat. Any suggestions? Of course this just happened right now...when it is cold and the boats are not running. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Make sure the thermostat dial is not turned all the way down. The red rotary dial, set it to 6.

Make sure the thermostat dial is turned all the way up.

Sorry, i had a glitch with the first solution, turn the black knob all the way up, see if you get heat, then try the middle setting, then set it on low, if you still get no heat, the thermostat is most likely malfunctioning.

My big honeywell heater isn't heating up anymore, why?

Well, let's try doing some trouble shooting and give us some clues-- maybe we can help:

1.) Do you know if you have power into the unit?
(Like any indicator lights lit, or any heat at all-- or any buzzing sound?)

2.) If you have a little indicator light showing that you have power into the control or thermostat area-- are you intersted in opening it up, and tracing the circuit-- with a little volt meter?

Let us know what yo find, and how deep you want to dig into this to repair it.

I have a Honeywell Oil filled heater, HZ 680 series. When both switches are turned on, they light up but there is no heat. Also, a funny smell then the switches automatically turn off. Is there anything...

These heaters last about three years, and are throw aways, unless you have some in the ole shed like I do.Checking the switches is the first thing to do,remove them to see if they are burned up on the other side where the connection is.If they are, that could be the smell,or the thermostat is melted down, and smelling, again, throw away,,or save it,and buy a new one,and you will have parts for when it goes out,if the switches are melted down,a compatible switch,if found, can be replaced in the heater, but something made the switches melt down, most likely a heating element in the tanks, non replacable.

Heater is clicking on and off and on and off every minutes when both switches are on

Pl check the manual. There are certain heaters designed this way! I can not comment unless the manual is read.

Honeywell HZ-709 oil filled radiator heater-all controlls work but no heat produced. Possible reason?? Thanks

There is a bottom element and a top element so the elements could be dead.

More likey, there could be no power coming from the wall - there are switches on the front that need to light up or the thermostat could be set to off.

I happened to be sitting here with a manual looking for a retail price so I could price it for a yard sale on Sat. I could email a scan (It's not lenghty)
