You need to upgrade your electrical system.

First easy thing you can do is buy a bigger battery. Get a battery with the highest cold cranking amps(cca) that will fit. Yellow top would be great.

If you have the $$ have a higher amp alternator put in. these are very expensive.

this is an advanced solution, and any vehicle with a big amp should have this done. Its called a big 3 upgrade.

Get some at least 2 awg hook up wire. you will need enough to run a wire to the neg of the battery to the chassis to your altinator. and enough to run from the pos on the bat to the pos on the altinator. and from the neg to the frame of the car.

Use copper lugs and solder them on the ends of the wires. Use a blow torch and pliers to hold it and heat it up. Melt solder into it about half way full, and then push stripped end into it, then squelch it with a damp cloth and wipe it off.

Do this for all, and hook everything up.

You can install a CAP if you want. I personally don't believe in them. They help the car dimming a little, but the lower the voltage at the amp.

Simple fix

You need to buy a capasitor or power cap. (Any decent car audio shop will have them)

A capasitor charges up, stores energy and handles deep base without light flicker, simple to fit.

You are currently, slowly killing your battery with power surges so get one as soon as you can

Happy vibes

Dash lights come on with the headlights then shut off

Do you have a dimmer for interior lamps? Like a rheostat, a little wheel that you turn up or down to brighten or dim interior lamps. Usually the instrument cluster lamps brighten and dim the same way.
Can you brighten and dim the other interior lamps?

1999 silverado gauge lights do not work

You probably already checked this but the simplest solution is the control used to turn on the interior lights and to dim your dash lights. It is a dimmer switch to the right of your headlight switch. If it is turned all the way down then you would have no dash lights and no headlight chime. Turned all the way up it turns on your interior lights. If this isn't your issue and if no fuses are blown then try to turn the dimmer switch all the way up with your headlights on. If the dash lights come on with the interior lights then your switch is fried and you may have a short in the interior light circuit.

2005 buick lacrosse cxl... dash lights and interior lights are going dim to bring to dim to bright very rapidly

First, check that the battery connections are clean and not corroded. If not look for the ground wires that connect to the chassis. Check to see if any are corroded or loose. Finally if that has no effect, you have a short somewhere in your wiring. The easy way to isolate it is to pull the fuses for each device one by one and see if the dimming stops. The last one to cause the dimming is the problem. If it happens when you hit a bump it also might be a ground fault in the interior car grounds....good luck!

Why dimming headlights and interior lights?

The outside lights could possibly be dim because the bulbs are burning out. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sound system was causing to much of an unpredictable power usage on the headlights and the fuse has blown as a safety precaution.

Flickering Headlights and Dim interior lights

Definately an electrical problem....first off, check the battery and alternator connections to make sure they are tight. The problem has to be before the fuse box because the headlights and interior lights are on different fuses. It sounds to me like a loose wire, corroded battery terminals, or an alternator that is going bad. An alternator is a relatively easy and cheap fix. They cost about $100 and require removing a few wires, 3 bolts, and the serpentine belt.
