I have a proform 770 ekg treadmill and it stops running after about 30 minutes. The motor smells hot and I also feel like the belt slows and speeds up while I'm walking. I have tried taking off the cover and running a little fan on the moter to keep it cool, but it still stops. I have called sears, which is where it came from and they won't tell me what the problem might be without coming to the house. I know that there is alot of these kind of treadmills that have the same problem , I have been surfing the net for answers and have found alot of people with the same problem.

Sounds like the motor is overheating and depending on the weight thats getting on it, it could be causing the motor to over pull and therefore makes it smell and stop running. of course sears are not going to tell you what the problem is because they want that money but did you buy an extra warranty with it if so tell them to get their butts out there and tell you what is going on with it. i hope that i helped you in some kind of way. please no that i am not being funny or talking about anyones weight, just trying to help.

Having same problem. The circuit doesn't trip but turns off. If you turn the power off and back on it works again but only for a short time as well. Mine was in storage for a while as was the other comment. Afraid it's the motor but I've hardly used it over the years. Less than 25 times most likely

I have Merit 710T that has recently begun to smell. I have lubricated the belt and had some problems readjusting the tightness and alignment but now that its aligned the treadmill gives me about 30 minutes...

see the video attached, lube TOO the rollers bearing front +back.
see the video how to adjust the deck belt.God bless you
However if finally the problem persist, test the input voltage motor see my personal TIPS, if there are Voltage at the terminals, the motor is faulty. Measure the output Voltage from the control board
for to input to the Motor, if there are NOT voltage from output the control BOARD is faulty, replace.

My Proform 770 EKG treadmill's motor is overheating. What is the voltage that should be pulled during use? Should the walking belt be replaced if we replace the motor?

see the video and lube correctly. 2) go to my personal TIPS for motor help.3) however you must see the voltage in the plate of motor. the tolerance will be +- 10% of voltage. can be voltage continuosly or alternating voltage.God bless you6527db9f-a9f8-47a6-9208-af2b680ea3a0.jpg

I have a Proform 770 EKG Treadmill jerks and squeaks

The drive belt was loose. I tightened up the motor just a smidge using a crow bar. That solved the problem.

Proform 765 EKG

If I understand correct, the treadmill will not run correct unless you have the safety key in. Well yes this is correct because once the safety key is removed the treadmill will stop. If your treadmill is running extremely fast just by turning it on, you may need a new speed sensor. www.AtlantaFitnessRepair.com
