I have a Sony projection tv KP53v45. It is about 9 years old. It wont turn on. The stand by light just keeps flashing, no picture or sound. I took off the back but I don't know what I'm looking at. Is it worth attempting to repair? I have a similar problem. Try to turn on tv, red timer light flashes, but no sound or picture. Is there a fuse or bulb that can be replaced.
A sony should only blink up to 8 times. If its continuous without any pause that usually means
No reply from the jungle (data bus is busy, shorted to ground or held
high), IK video path is defective.
Count your blinks again. let me know.

I've been reading about the flashing light when I try to turn turn on my Sony KDP-65WS550. I noticed that when i hit the power button on the front to turn it on, the light will flash red once for the attempt and THEN flash the number of blinks for the code. I'm getting 10 total flashes when I first hit the button and then after a slight pause then it will flash 9 times. It will continue to repeat the pause and 9 flashes as long as I let it. I have been able to get my TV to finally come on if I hit the power button enough. I think my TV may just be dirty, I'm going to try and blow it out with a can of compressed air.
