I have a Bose surround sound system. The remote is a model RC28T1-27. It won't do anything, turn on or off, volume, select source/input etc. I have tried several new batteries but nothing. Any ideas?

I got mine apart by wedging a screwdriver in and twisting until it popped apart. (nothing broke) I started at a bottom corner and worked my way up the side until it came loose
The problem is that the broadcasting antenna at the top of the remote is very a very thin wire wrapped around a heavy cylindrical magnet and its solder points are extremely weak. You most likely dropped it and it came loose. I re-soldered mine and it worked perfectly.... until it broke again. The leads are very small and hard to fix.
Chalk it up to poor design.

Yes it can be fixed if you have patience and know your way around soldering.

I have a RC28T1-27 Remote that suddenly no longer works. Put in new batteries and it seems like there is no connection. Will not work unless you keep pressing buttons repeatively.

880 universal remote volume button broke. little rubber botton on inside that pushes the volume button on inside broken.face plate cracked and arrow button on left right underneath face broken and missing...

My volume button also broke (actually, the VOLUME UP function stopped working). Rather than trying to get the remote fixed, I found a different solution...
I reprogrammed the + key (bottom left of the remote) to be my new Volume UP function. You can do this by going to any of the activities you've already defined, and adding a custom button to the activity.
Choose the + button (it will probably not have an existing function), and tell it to use the Volume Up function of the component you normally use for volume. In my case, it was the Home Theater Receiver.
I hope that helps.

Manual input selection mitsubishi hs u575

No I'm afraid not, you must have the remote to perform these functions. You can get a original replacement remote from here: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=HSU575&brand_pn=MITSUBISHI_HSU575&mode=large&uid=11752605060460 Good Luck
