    Hello Joshy,

That was a quick response. I did exactly what you advice and it get to work. When I enter the unlock code, it took it and got a message saying 'the network unlocked'. When I turn on the phone, again the same message. What should I do? I tried putting the T-mobile SIM card but it is asking for the lock code...please help me...

well, I bought this item on ebay and the default lock code '0000' doesnt work here.

I dont know if the previous owner has changed the lock code from default to his own.

It does show signal bar, home icon on my cell phone, nothing else.

Do you want me to try it with active T-Mobile SIM card and see?

I have the same phone, and was getting the same "Insert Smartchip" message.

I seem to have fixed it by taking off the cover on the back of the phone (the part with the Sony Ericsson name on it), taking out the large battery, and gently pushing the little blue Smartchip back into its chamber with my fingernail, as it must have come loose somehow. The Smartchip "clicks" into the chamber when it is in there correctly.

I put it all back together, turned the phone off, then back on. When it came on, it worked again.

Hope this helps!

it depends who it's locked to - for example FIDO sony ericsson phones require 2 codes - but most guys provide 1.

when you do Left ** Left does it show other locked icons?

we can hard unlock it - but you need to ship it to us in canada - $25+ shipping (about $40 total)

    yes test with active sim

I have a SE z300 and when I was getting this problem I opened it, sprayed some WD40 on some of the corroded parts. Tighened up some loose pieces, wiped off all the liquid closed it back up and everything worked.

Transfer contacts with an inactive smartchip

Since you say that your computer can read your memory card, you could try puting a sim into your phone temporarily and then backing up your contacts onto your memory ericsson phones do provide you with that option. The procedure is: Phonebook--options--more--advanced--back up to memory card. Hope it helps, Rushil

I turn on my LG Shine cell phone and no matter

Turn off the phone. Take the battery and Sim Card out. Make sure there is no dust or dirt of where the Sim Card goes. Blow air (from your mouth) of where the Sim Card goes. Sometimes rubbing a soft pencil eraser on the Sim Card contact points can help. Then place the Sim Card back in the phone. Make sure it is in the right position; copper contacts facing downward. Put the battery back in your phone. Turn it on, and see if the smartchip rejected goes away.

If not you may need to contact your Phone Provider’s Tech Support to troubleshoot and confirm that you may need a PUK reset code to register or you may need a new Sim Card, as they do fail from time to time.

You cannot reactivate a smartchip aka sim card...once it's deactivated for security purposes they are not reactivated. You will need to get a new smartchip

Insert Smartchip

You have to insert the smart card all the way in on these phones. You can use a pen cap or something to push it all the way in there until it goes all the way in and click and stays there. Then it will not say " insert smart chip" anymore.
