I had the same problem with mine until I figured out it was from the auto self focus. Normally it should be done with a picture that remains constant or close to it, or else the focus gets screwed up. Go to menu and setup, then turn the self focus off. If you look on the remote and slide the lower portion down you will see a self focus button. My suggestion is to put a DVD in and hit the pause button and then press the self focus button and wait until its finished.

Tmtmail.co.ukmy samsung projection tv has double vision and i dont know how to amend the lens can yu please help thank you

double vision in a rear projection tv has several reasons. one is convergence magnets are out of tune. u need to tune them which is back side of picture tubes. u please observe that which color is producing the double vision. the lens are firmly fixed & therefore need not to adjust. other option is to adjust the convergence of tv by going to service mode by remote.

Developed herringbone lines on my tv SAMSUNG 47" REAR PROJECTION TV TELEVISION

This is a very common issue on these TV's. The pro-scan module is failing and must be replaced. Here is a link to the part number and ability to order it. The module is a plug in device and in the TV is surrounded by a metal shield. The module is very easy to replace and just requires that you unplug the TV before removing the back.

Samsung hcn4727w. All colors out of wack.Curve at top and bottem.Plus double images.

Aging eletrolytic capacitors cannot hold the voltages necessary to keep the color guns in alignment. This is NOT a problem you can fix yourself. The are DANGEROUS high voltages inside your TV which can persist for WEEKS after the set is off.
You must call a qualified service technican for repair.

Samsung HCN4727W Rear Projection TV, green screen, audio works

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai2_bing.gif,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

I am seeing doubles now. Started out on the left side.

This is likely a convergence problem. If you can solder yuo can fix this yourself. Please note that there are potentially dangerous high voltages inside the set even when unplugged. If you wish to attempt this repair yourself, please update this and confirm the model number and I'll provide additional details and instructions.

Thanks,
Dan

Picture is double lined of greens and reds

You have a convergence output IC failure. You my also need a few small associated parts as well. Expect to pay $350-450 to have this fixed.

Sony rear projestion TV has blurry picture.

sounds as if your convergence needs to be set. either through the menu on the tv or remote you need to get to the convergence set screen and you need to line up the crosshairs. this usually happens when the tv is moved or bumped.
