Most routers do not allow admin access from their WAN (public) side due to security concerns. Many routers allow you to enable this service from their browser-based configuration screens, but the 6211 does not. However, you can access advanced commands by logging into the router with telnet (from the LAN side) instead of a browser. The "remoteaccess" command allows you to turn on the feature you desire.

I was unable to login as admin in my dir600 dlink router...but i can login as user...how can i login as admin?

The default admin username is "admin" with no password.

The default adress is http://192.168.0.1

If you are still unable to connect, the password may have been changed. Reset the router with the button on the back, and try again.
tip

Default IP, Password

The factory default settings for the WAP54G are:

  • IP address: 192.168.1.245 (Note: NOT .254)
  • password: admin
  • username: blank -- there is no username by default.
Some versions of Firefox and Safari will not let you authenticate with no username. If you're unable to log in with a blank username, try admin

How can I reset an unknown admin pw on Linksys RV042 VPN Router? I'm the new IT guy here, and I don't have the admin pw for our VPN router (and I need to provide remote access to a colleage working...

you have forgotten your LinkSys router password, the easiest thing to do is to reset your router to the factory default settings.
To restore the router configuration to factory defaults, hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds.
Once your router is hard reset, you will need to login and reconfigure it again.
To reconfigure your LinkSys, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router Password: Admin
On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."
Once you are past the login screen, you are able to reconfigure the LinkSys router

Having trouble accessing router with ipod touch and nintindo dsi

Hi,

In order to Unlock Netgear router you need to know the login password for router's login page and if that does not work, you can try with a default username : admin, Password : admin, still if you are unable to access the routers page then you need to reset the router by inserting a pin in the pinhole where it says reset at the back of the router...press and hold down the pin for 30 seconds and then restart the router, this will take the router back to default settings and then apply username : admin and password : admin....it should work

Netgear address : 192.168.0.1 ( Type in IE address bar to access it )

Anup
