ACCORDING TO POWERMATE, THIS GENERATOR IS EQUIPPED WITH A 10HP SUBARU ENGINE. WHAT MODEL IS YOURS? AND R U SURE IT'S A B&G ENGINE?

  • Anonymous Dec 15, 2009

ASSUMING U LOOKED ALL OVER FOR A DRAIN PLUG AND DIDN'T FIND ONE, WE CAN ASSUME B&G HAS MADE ENGINES IN THE PAST WITHOUT DRAIN PLUGS. UR PROBABLY GONNA HAVE TO PUMP OUT THE OIL FROM THE OIL FILL.

Where is the oil drain plug on a 20 HP Briggs & Stratton mower engine?

Many engines today either have no drain, or a drain that you cannot get to because of the way the engine is fitted, just buy a syringe to suck the oil out, there are plenty available made to do just this job.

Oil drain plug for 7.5hp briggs straton engine

If you're looking to obtain an oil drain plug -- your post doesn't actually say that -- I'd recommend your local hardware or plumbing or home improvement store. Briggs & Stratton generally uses standard iron pipe threading on their oil sump drains. You'll want a 3/8" IPT plug.

Oil appearing at exhaust, smokey, briggs and stratton lawm mower.

You will need to replace or clean the air filter, and probably the spark plug. Do not operate the mower for some hours to allow the oil drain (inside the engine). Check oil level and fill it if necessary. Some oil remaining in the exhaust should be burnt next time the lawnmower operates. You will see smoke at the beginning, that will be normal (burnt oil). Hope this helps!
