SANI RINSE LIGHT KEEPS BLINKING

THE SANI RINSE LIGHT KEEPS BLINKING AND THE WATER DOES NOT DRAIN SO THE CYCLE IS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE

The sanirinse keeps blinking and the water is not drained. I cannot even restart a new cycle to troubleshoot . By pressing the normalwash button nothing happens

  • Mary1967 Jan 21, 2008

I opened the door and closed but it does not interrupt the sani light from blinking, and the other buttons including normal wash are disabled, what happens though is that occasionaly suddenly it starts to drain rightnow all the water has been drained, but still I cannot start a new cycle.

  • Mary1967 Jan 21, 2008

actually right now sani rinse and the lock on are both blinking

  • Mary1967 Jan 21, 2008

I have a Kenmore ultrawash Quietguard system

  • Mary1967 Jan 21, 2008

before I read your comment I looked again at the machine and saw that the lock on button has stopped blinking and sani rinse was just on but not blinking, then i followed your instruction and hold the airdry which is on my machine called NO HEAT DRY and suddenly sani rinse and the lock on both started blinking again.
now that I finished writing this again I am looking and seeing that only Sani rinse is blinking. looking at my dishwasher reminds me of watching a pink panther cartoon as a child!!!

  • Mary1967 Jan 21, 2008

actually I did try the key combination and the blinking stopped and I was able to runn a quick rinse cycle to see what happens next .
If ok I will trouble shoot and try to use the normal wash with running the water at the sink to a high temperature first.
    will let you know
    thanks

  • Mary1967 Jan 22, 2008

after quick rinse the water drained but the problem reoccured. again the sani light started blinking, and all the keys are disabled . I also followed all the other recommendations including cleaning the ribbbon and looking for any blockage in the drain system, everything seemed ok.

Hi

have you done some troubleshooting with it? try putting only 1 plate to clean. would it still have the same problem?

i would suggest that if you see the water doesnt drain, check if there are any blockages at the bottom.have it regularly clean as some components in the inside might get particles left from the water and not from the dirty plates.

hope this helps you.

ok hold the air dry key again for 4 seconds

  • Anonymous Jan 21, 2008

if clearing the lock on doesnt do it then it sounds like you have a stuck key turn the power off to the dishwasher and remove the screws from the inner door panel and raise it up then take the cover off disconnect the ribbion from the control and gently clean it with a clean pencial eraser the ribbion will be a wide peice of plastic there will be a little peice of plastic where it goes into the control that you pull up to unlock the ribbion clean the end of the ribbion and reconnect push the plastic tab back down to lock it and try one more if that doesnt workyou may have to replace the buttons a blinking light is supposed to be a stuck button push the sani button severl times to see if you can free it

if sani is on solid now try opening your door

  • Anonymous Jan 22, 2008

mary im suspecting a promblem with your heater have you noticed any thing along thoose lines i beleive the promblem is with the heater the thermal fuse or the thermostat its self do you have the technical sheet for this unit

  • Anonymous Jan 22, 2008

according to what ive read the sani light blinks if the cycle is interrupted when the washer gets to a heat cycle it shuts down power to the timer till the water heats now if we have a problem on the heating circuit say bad heater, bad thermostat,or bad thermal safety fuse then when the unit stalls for water heat and none of the thermostat's close then the control will read this as an interrupted cycle and start the light blinking now in all your travels around the dishwasher did you find the tech sheet isolate the heater circuit find the thermostat and put a jumper wire across the leads to by pass the thermostats then open and close the door if the sani light goes solid then let the washer complete the cycle and replace the thermostats they are under the dishwasher and are tiny discs with an in and out wire find the heater and follow the wires to locate

  • Anonymous Jan 22, 2008

ps un plug the washer or have the door unlocked to kill the circuit before the jumper wire thing and if it works you cant run the dishwasher this way its just for testing

What model sani is yours please

If you opened and closed the door and it started, that sounds like a bad, door switch in the console.

But you did hear a hum sound when it tryed to drain, it could be the drain solenoid, or the motor/pump assembly.

Take off the bottom access and look at the solenoid when it starts to drain, the piston in the solenoid should move freely, up and down with the white drain flapper that it connects to.

Also check for bad wiring connections at the power junction box where the power hooks up to it under the dishwasher, i have seen the wire nuts either come loose or burn off due to loose connections.

I did the same thing - hi temp wash, heated dry, hi temp wash, heated dry. It worked well - thanks

  • Anonymous Jan 21, 2008

had the same problem: a blinking "Clean" light on a Kenmore dishwasher. Actually it would blink 7 times, then pause and repeat. Your trick to put the machine in maintenance mode worked!! The sequence I used was:
    Hi Temp Wash, Heated Dry;
    Hi Temp Wash, Heated Dry.
It did as you said, cycled through and did its thing for about 4 minutes or so, then finally cleared the blinking green light. It is running now.

clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault

The "clean" light keeps blinking. It will not allow me to start another cycle or to cancel/drain.

The blinking clean light is an interruption in the dishwasher program that either indicates a malfunction, or it can be a simple glitch. The following link explains how you may be able to clear the blinking clean light problem:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575752-dishwasher_blinking_clean_light

Now, keep in mind all dishwashers are not alike and have different panel options. If you do not have the same set up that I have mentioned, the tech sheet for your dishwasher will explain the touch pad functions. The tech sheet is located behind the lower toe panel under the door and lists the proper sequence of buttons to push for diagnostics and troubleshooting. Just remove the screws that hold the panel in place and remove.

NOTE: Sometimes the tech sheet is located behind the inner door panel. You will need to remove the screws securing the inner panel to access it if this is the case. Make sure you turn off the main power breaker before doing so.

I have often found this to be a momentary glitch in operation. If the problem keeps reoccuring the number of flashes is an indication of WHICH circuit is causing your problem. As all dishwashers differ in operation and features, refer to your tech sheet for the recommended troubleshooting steps.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you solve your problem.

NOTE: Some dishwashers use the Sani-Rinse/Air Dry combination, some use the Sani-Rinse/Heated Dry combination. Some use a sequence of three, others use a sequence of 5 pushes of the buttons.

Miele g892 and just like everyone the red light comes on and dishwasher stops running> why cant you answer thic common problem>

The red light tell you there is a fault. You have to read the fault code and it will give you a general idea of the problem - to do this you have to enter the service mode of operation - close the door and turn the dishwasher on.
The Start/Stop light must be blinking. If the Start/Stop light is not blinking, press and hold
the Start/Stop button for at least 3 seconds to exit the cycle. The Start/Stop light should now be blinking.

Press and hold the Start/Stop button while turning the dishwasher on. Release the
Start/Stop button and immediately press it 2 more times. Flashing Intake/Drain and
Salt lamps and a lit Rinse lamp indicates successful accessing of services mode

Kenmore Dishwasher 665.15895791 will not drain

what sani-rinse does is turn the heater back on in the rinse cycle. You first should check the heater for voltage either at the start of the first cycle or do a ohms check.

Whirlpool gold- quiet partner III

An angel of mercy on another blog posted this solution and it worked for me as well. My Whirlpool Quiet Partner Dishwasher would not work due to the CLEAN light flashing in 7 interval sequences. I followed these steps and my dishwasher is not working perfectly...hope it works for you:

"Well for mine which is a Whirlpool Gold Model # GU2400XTPS3, I found the seq of buttons that I had to push to reset the curcuit board. I think it may of been in this forum somewhere. But I had to push - Sani Rinse, Heated Dry, Sani Rinse, Heated Dry, and then the dishwasher went through it's diagnostic cycle and then after that the light stopped blinking and the dishwasher works great. Supposily, there is a Product Tech Sheet behide the kick panel of every dishwasher, but mine was gone so I had to find the information on the internet. You might want to do a serach for the correct seq of buttons you have to push to reset the curcuit board. If you know for sure that the heating element is bad, you will have to order one. "

Kenmore Dishwasher #15769

Try this solution first
Push the Hi-temp and then push the Sani-rinse. Go back and forth multiple times on these two buttons. I found that after a handfull of pushes that a "1" came up on the display. I continued to keep rotating the two buttons and then a "2" came up on the display and the dishwater started it's "drain" phase. I then hit cancel to clear and then I selected the cycle I wanted. The washer started up just as normal at this point.
