Every time I mix or master things always sound different once rendered. It's gotta be how I set the speakers. Bass centered, Tremble centered, line 1=0 sound line 2 is my output sound.

How do I set up the "Start Track" buttons?

Hi Ed... after looking at the specs and manual for this mixer, it appears that channels 3 thru 7 have a hard wired jack for connecting to remote output jack of CD players or other hardware with a remote output. It doesn't appear that it is software assignable. Simply a plug connection to hardware. I don't think you can control your software from these buttons. Sorry.

How do you connect tape deck to pmp 4000

Hi, use the RCA/Phono connections for the Tape In & Out. The level will be set by the Master/Main fader. If that is not so convenient (& assuming it's a PMP4000?) there should be a "Main 2" output & connections with the level controlled separately to Main 1 via a Knob / Rotary control over to the right above the "Mono" fader... Hope that helps... Good Luck!

Djx 750 - no power - transformer dead?

Actually, you may be in luck. A burned cap means that it has done exactly what it's supposed to do. So...you might stick an identical one in there -- it's a 0.1 uF cap, and you can find these at Radio Shack (0.1 uF 50V) or online. They are cheap, so give it a shot.

Transfer music form fostex 440 to a PC

Step one- download the open source program Audacity. http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/?source=directory
Get an 1/8 inch stereo jack to stereo RCA outputs (some digital cameras with vieo capability have these cords.)
Plug your tape deck "Line Out" to the "microphone" input of your sound card if it does not have a "Line level Input." You will have to adjust the microphone level once you enable it in the microsoft windows audio settings accessible through the control panel file.

If you are using a mac, you will have to open the CDEV to set it up.

Then it is simply a matter of getting used to using the program, which does not take too long. Just remember to save either each tape side or each song as it's own project.

All open audio files in the display will play simulataneously, which is why you want to close them and start new.

If you need other tweeking types of programs to reduce hiss or potentially disk pops, there are some offerings also at sourceforge http://sourceforge.net They cater to Windows, linux and Mac.

The sampling rate you choose- if not variable- will affect sound quality and file size.

I have purchased a peavey pv 6 (not the usb) and I have a squeal problem when I activate the tape to mix button and rising the master fader to 0 and my headphone volume. I am using a creative soundblaster...

You MUST turn off the echo from the computer OR remove the sound card to line in connections. The tape out goes through the sound card and immediately back out to the tape in and around it goes for feedback.

Need to connect to a sound blaster live sound card for recording using sonar as recording program. hace had it in storage for sometime and can't remember what went where

This particular mixer offers a usb (2 channel connection) that can be simply plugged into the computer usb 2.0. These channels should be available in Sonar from the channel Input/output drop boxes. You may need to restart Sonar, the mixer or both for them to be recognized. You may also need to run the Wav Profiler in Sonar. Typically the Wave Profiler is found in the Options>Audio menu but may be different on each edition of Sonar. The above info is for Sonar 7.

If you are wanting to record several channels at once then I would recommend connecting your Mixer's Direct Outputs from each channel to a corresponding input of the soundblaster if your soundblaster supports multiple channels. And then use the usb outbut from the Sonar to monitor the computer playback of your master stereo channel. Or, you may connect the soundblaster outputs to unused channels of the mixer or to the tape return or auxilary inputs to monitor the computer playback on the mixer.

Alternately you can send the signal to your soundblaster via the buss outputs. This will limit the number of simaltanious output channels to the number of busses on the mixer, but you can send any mixer channel to any buss without unplugging the instruments or mics.

Here's the link to the page where you can download the free pdf manual for this mixer. Page 14 explains the output connections and has diagrams.

How do i connect yamaha mixer to pc or yamaha receiver

I am sorry to disagree, but some information in the previous post is INCORRECT. DO NOT connect the output of the mixer to the MIC input. The mixer generates LINE level output that should go to the LINE-IN on the sound card. If you connect the mixer to the mic input, you will damage the sound card. MIC level inputs have an additional amplification stage.

Whow i connect my xenyx 1002 mixer to audiophil 2496 sound card

You must connect:
the main out of the 1002, or the ctrl room out of the 1002 at your power amplifier's input.
the line in 9/10 of the 1002 at your 2496's line out.
the cd/tape out of the 1002 at your 2496's line in.
in case of a cd connect it's line out at line in 3/4, or line in 7/8 of 1002
some mic at the mic 1 or mic 2 of 1002.
That's the way you're going to have control for:
the mic level from channel 1 or 2.
cd level from channel 3/4 or 7/8.
pc playback from channel 9/10.
master speakers from main mix or ctrl room.
All the above connections are not absolute and may vary depending on your needs.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

What kind of sound card do you have in your PC? Generally you can plug into the line in jack using a stereo RCA to 1/8" stereo plug cord with !/4" adapters on the RCA plugs. Then run from the !/4" left and right output jacks on your D5 to the !/8" line in on your sound card.
