Hi,
It sounds like the cold water supply to the washer is turned off or blocked. All rinses are usually cold water. I recommend checking the cold water supply & the water valve screens. Other possibilities; water valve, timer or wiring harness problems. Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya.

Loud banging noise during rinse

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the rinse or spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary. This will solve your problem.

Whirlpool Washing Machine Quitting during rinse cycle

I would say that based on your problem description that the lid /door switch has a loose or faulty contact .. If you open and close it a few times..it starts to spin and yet when you open it.. it doesn't always stop the spinning.. It is either the switch or the actuator that bumps that switch.. That is where I would begin diagnosing the problem... Hope that helps..

Aeg 72630 update will not rinse during rinse cycle

If the drain lines were plugged, there may have been enough pressure on the pump to fault out. Make sure the sewer line is completely open, as well as the lines at the pump.
