DS Lite Games will not stay in slot (retaining spring defective?)

Try inserting a thin cloth dampened with 409 into the cartridge slot and clean the contacts.

My best suggestions for resolving the bent/ broken slot-1 pins are:
1) If under warranty then send it off to them for repair.
2) Find a local repair place and give it to them to repair it.
3) If you have good soldering skills and fancy a bit of DIY repair you can have a go at sorting it yourself.

To be honest its far easier to just replace the entire slot-1 part than it is to take the part apart and repair it, the cost of the slot- 1 is very reasonable from ebay.

Hi,

Chances are its the slot- 1... Have a look at my guide i've written to see if any of the tips I suggest help, if not there is a bit on replacing the slot- 1 part. I also have a guide on taking apart the DS lite if you need it. The replacement part is readily avaliable on ebay for very little money and so long as you have soldering equipment and a steady hand you should be fine.

what i do is blow on the ds slot and the ds game chip then insert it in....keep tryin it works for my R4

You have damaged the spring release in the card slot. You could have a go at fixing it yourself but they are quiet tricky and it involves a bit of soldering and a tweezers. Alternatively you could send it to Nintendo if it is still under warranty (they should do it for free if it is under warranty as it is a fairly hard part to damage with out damaging the rest of the DS)

the contacts where the game go got dirty or broken!, u will need to get it repaired

Defective SLOT1. Cause are briken of bend pins inside SLOT1. Replace the slot or let it repair by a repair service or Nintendo

the spring maybe busted or something for the slot lock is messed up best bet is to take it apart or buy a new one

a wire is probably misplaced.I recommend getting professional help or unscrew your ds and fixing the problem.
