Either the drum is rubbing against something or more likely the belt pulley is cause the noise. Oil the pulley wheel and the drum rollers and it should stop squealing.

Do I need to buy new dryer or is it fixable with minimal charge?

It is a Gas Dryer, so it can only be worked on by a qualified gas service engineer. Easy to fix Miss Carroll, it is a slipping belt or a dry drum bearing.

Tell them make and model and that it is squealing. They should bring the parts to fix in one visit.

Squealing dryer

Sounds like the drum bearings are going bad, or at the very least need lubrication. thats what your problem is.

My extra large capacity Whirlpool dryer does not dry in one cycle. Even if I only put a small load it takes at least 3 cycles to dry

There maybe an air flow issue. With the dryer on check the air flow from the exterior location of your home. There should be a good flow of warm/hot air coming out. If not the inside of the dryer may be full of lint.

Whirlpool Cabrio dryer gas does not stay lit after a few minutes.

It sounds like your solenoid coil(s) might be no good. Easy fix and not very expensive.

Whirlpool gas dryer Model #WGD5530SQ0 not heating properly

If your dryer heats when you first turn it on and after a few minutes it does'nt. check the ignitor to see if it is glowing. It should glow bright then you will hear a click and the burner will light. If the ignitor glows bright but you hear a click but no flame and if you watch this for several minutes and this process continues of glow then glow goes out no flame, then you have a bad burner coil. There are 2 black solenoids sitting on top of gas valve. One of them is shorting out after it warms up. Replace both solenoids. You can usually get them as a kit from parts store.

My Maytaag dryer has a loud intermittent squeal. It will often work for 10-15 minutes with a quiet squieak or no noise, then the loud squeak starts up. I can turn the dryer off, but the squeal immidately...

I think the drum drive belt is slipping because it occurs more with a large load. Other possibilities are: A drum support wheel bearing could need lubrication or be replaced. Also some drum support wheels have a rubber coating that wears off causing misalignment and noise. Possibly drum gasket (sometimes felt material) where drum meets rear panel is worn allowing metal-to-metal contact--should be replaced. Whirlpool gas dryer not hot enough .With small or large loads its taking over an hour to dry. Is there coils I can check?? Not sure what to do

This sounds like dryer vent has to much lint in it. It needs to be cleaned all the wall to outside of house. It will hold moisture in and not let clothes dry..
