How exactly do I format the card in the camera? I am an absolute idiot when it comes to all of this so can you explain it to me like I am six years old, thanks.

Yeah you were right, all the pictures were deleted but luckily i had downloaded them beforehand, nothing like a fresh start, thankyou so much for your help!

The card will likely need to be formatted in the camera before it will work again. This will, however, erase the current photos. In an effort to save the images on the card, use an external card reader to try to extract and save the images. You may need to use image recovery software to re-access the images.

Here goes! With xD card in camera, turn camera on. Make sure it's in "shooting" mode (not playback). Wait for indicator light on back to turn green. Press "menu" button. Use right pointer of navigation dial to go to the "wrench1" symbol. Use down pointer to go to "format". Use right arrow to select format & go to OK. Format OK? Select yes. That should format the card. Try to shoot a picture. Did that do it?

Zoom out and camera dropped.. now stuck out.. fujifilm finepix f47fd

The guide pins and/or plastic tabs inside your lens damage easily when dropped from even a short height.
lens needs to be stripped down, inspected for damage and reset after any repair.

I have a fujifilm j150w and it keeps on sayin card not initialize

i dont think there is a solution to this problem. i have the same problem with fujifilm j150w and this stupid error usually happens when you are at the height of excitement in taking pictures. it is sooooo annoying.

a temporary solution to it though is just format the stupid memory card using the stupid digicam. you can still you it though. but you can't depend on the digicam for special occasions and important events. i really dont think its worth it
