I have a maytag pye2300ayw electric dryer that will not run, i thought it might be the thermal fuse, so i changed it and cleaned out the all the lent. dryer started up and seem to work fine. put a load of clothes in and now it is doing the same thing, won't start. i think it may be the thermal fuse again, but what could be the reason it keeps burn the fuses up?
Thermal fused are one time fuses / maytag want's you to correct the problem that causes this . so dryer is safe. hi heat caused it to fail . so either the fan is not going or there is a restriction causing no air flow . try running the dryer off the vent if it works ok then clean the vent ,, hope this helped . pls leav feed back mm
I would say that maytag has a problem with lint collection. That is why so many thermal fuses blow and why so many people just bypass this "saftey" device rendering it more dangerous.
I would advise anyone with this model Maytag dryer to pull the front body panel and clean the lint out and then replace the thermal fuse.
