W580i help im trying to download the information off the internet for w580i as my laptop not working properly it wont read the free cd

just push the button on cd tray... then the tray will open. if won't read then maybe your cd is damage or the cd drive got in trouble unable to read. try restarting your system.

Try cleaning the lens with a lint free cloth and a little alcohol, if that doesn't work chances are the drive is US

go to download.com/cnet and download advanced systemcare free then run it this should solve your problem

Im having the same problem with my acer. although i can play all cds, just not some dvds. Ive already had a suggestion, heres the link.

Umm, maybe you didn't plug it in right. Try putting in the CD rom of your router, then download it, and it will probably have setup/ help on there.

Theres a number of things u can try:

1. system restore your laptop back to a date right before it stopped working.
2. take the cd drive out and then put it back in, then restart.
3. update new drivers for the cd drive
4. ensure your device is "enabled" under your hardware setting within control panel.

make sure you have cd's free of dust and scratches. make sure you aren't trying read anything the drive is not capable of recognizing. Also, make sure the disk is firmly seated. I have had that problems where the center hole was not seated completly for the spinner head to grab onto.
as to the internet problem...check all connections and drivers. That is the best i can say on either problem without more information.

First thing to do is to go into safe start up and make sure that you change drive priorities to show the cd ROM is assigned the first device to read from. All should be well, from that point on.
