Why is it my touch screen workks, but my fold out keyboard os locked and buttons are not working. the letter buttons. help please.

the touch screen is not connected the same as your keyboard the screen is direct hardware connected and youre keyboard and mouse are connected as bluetooth devices. you shoud have what is reffered to as a .dongle, which plugs into any comuter usb port, and talks to the keyboard and mouse. first check or replace the batteries inn both the mouse and the keyboard, then make to turn on the switch on the backside of the keyborad. Then push the button, connect, on the back of the dongle, and finally push the connect button on the bottomside of the mouse. The mouse and dongle should flash if they are talking to each other.

If you have an old keyboard and mouse that plug directly into the computer then they are hard wired directly to the motherboard by sockets. these are not repairable. but first go to start-botom left corner and click on the icon and go to control panel and select keyboard and rest all defaults such as keyboard language, rebbot and try again...my keyboard after installing defaults to french canada and i have to change to us otherwise my question mark becomes a french e. I hope this helps

I need to reset my wireless mouse and computer, but cannot navigate on the screen without these tools. Please help. :)

Turn the computer off. Find the reset button on the keyboard & the other on the mouse. Sometimes they list the button as "calibrate" or even "Sync". Some models require that you push both buttons at the same time and hold them down to reset them to working order. Others only have one button on the mouse or keyboard to reset the calibration.

Reseting the mouse and keyboard has nothing to do with the pc. You can reset them with commands from your computer.

After you push the reset buttons, turn your computer on and see if your keyboard and mouse are now available.

This should solve your problem.

How to unlock the key pad on a dell latitude D600 laptop

Hi. Please do troubleshooting steps below:

1. Check to be sure your "Number Lock" or "Function Lock" keys aren't lit. These can lock out certain parts of your keyboard. If either of these is lit, press them to unlock the locked portion of your keyboard. These can be found at the top right on a laptop and between the number pad and main keys on a desktop keyboard.

2. Save all open programs using your mouse. Use your mouse to restart your computer. This will only work if your computer isn't frozen. If your mouse doesn't move, press the power button on your Dell until the computer turns off. Press it again to restart. If the issue was lack of memory or a locked program, this will unlock your keyboard. Continue to Step 3 if the keyboard is still locked.

3. Shut down your computer using your mouse or power button. Don't restart. Unplug your Dell.

4. Remove the battery if you're using a laptop by turning the laptop over and sliding the battery release latch. Slide the battery out and replace after one minute.

Have a good one!

  • Step 2 Save all open programs using your mouse.
  • Step 3 Shut down your computer using your mouse or power button. Don't restart. Unplug your Dell.
  • Step 4 Remove the battery if you're using a laptop by turning the laptop over and sliding the battery release latch. Slide the battery out and replace after one minute.

THE WINOWS STARTUP SHOWS ON SCREEN ON/OFF BUTTON IS BLUE

Is your keyboard also wireless? Check batteries on all wireless devices. If batteries are fine, restart your computer (hold down your power button until your computer shuts down unless you have a reset button) and then try unplugging and plugging back in your wireless receiver, then hit your connect buttons starting with your keyboard followed by your mouse.
