SOURCE: Invalid Engine Code

This is actually a Lexmark printer, so what I'm quoting is a Lexmark sol.

turn off machine

hold down returnand go buttons

turn on printer

hold  until performing test shows and let go of buttons

it will go to a service mode ( instead of saying ready)

got to printer set up

hit select button

go to engine 1,2 or 3

try each one ( hit select to go into that perticular number)

what you are looking for is a number that has an * next to it. Use the arrow keys to scroll. most likely it changed the setting so go and look for that number w/the * and hit select when you see it.

SOURCE: service 960 memory error- r

A 960 RAM MEMORY FAILURE message indicates a failure of the RAM MEMORY that is soldered onto the printer's main controller/system board.

If the printer is displaying a 960 memory error.

1. Power off the printer.
2. If you have any extra memory SIMMs or code SIMMs installed in the printer, remove them.
3. Power on the printer.
4. If the 960 error continues, the main controller/system board will probably need to be replaced.
5. If the 960 error does not return, try printing a few documents.
6. If these documents print correctly, the cause of the 960 memory error is probably one of the SIMMs you just removed.
To confirm this, do the following:

1. Turn off the printer and reinstall each SIMM one at a time.
2. After you install each memory card, power the printer back on and try printing. If the error returns as soon as you install a particular SIMM, that SIMM is probably the cause of the error message.

Good day how do I fix a problem on the IBM 6500 printer not powering up. The power supply has been to be OK. The main board has been replaced. The fans are not running etc.

If you replace the main PCB you need to move the Key over or it won't post (grey squares on the panel with no fans on). It is a small 3-pin plug near the flash memory slot.

In addition to that if you have the V5 controller you would need to move the Flash memory chip and the DRAM.

After you do that you will need to load the microcode on the PCB. I can get you instructions to do this.

IBM Infoprint 1532 giving error code 922.14 -service fuser error

There is a heater control problem in the fuser.
The fuser is the assembly of heated rollers in the rear of the device.
The most likely cause is either a blown heater element, or perhaps a faulty temperature sensor.
Usually we fit an exchange fuser assemblt to fix this.

Service code 914 does not exist. If you meant 941, that is a tray 1 lift motor issue.

Fuser error on my ibm infoprint color 1464

The error is Fuser cam position not found. Have you tried reseating the fuser? Does the fuser make any loud sounds? Based on the error message, it could either be the fuser, or the system board.
