The hard drive may had a BAD SECTOR ( corrupt section ) try to format with normal mode,NOT quick format. try using LLFTOOL ( hard disk low level format ) http://hddguru.com quite bit longer to fix the bad section, but works.
You need a cable. No work around install the nokia suite download new SW and flash it conneting the cable to the phone. If you have no cable as a telephone shop because the cable might be difficult to get and expensive
if it conencts but gets disconnected as mentioned it turns red possible that something is interfering with the network signal from your system to the router...... try checking for applications programs that can casue your wireless to fail from conneting, check if you have network magic on the computer uninstall it it can cuase network conflict and failures to conenct wirelessly or if your laptop is a Lenovo and if it has readycom 4.0 or readycom 5.0 uninstall it as well.
Also have you tried reinstalling the drivers for your wireless card in the laptop possible that the drivers installed is incorrect or corrupt, you can download drivers for your systme possbily from your OEM Original Equipment Manufacturer ^_^
This sounds like software problem try reinstalling your computer software that came with the camera. also make shure you turn your camera on after conneting it to the computer.
Are you connecting wirelessly or with a cord? if wireless, you need to make sure that you are selecting the same security setting as the connection that you pick in 'network settings'. If the option is 'none', then you need not worry about a password. however if it has a password, then you need to make sure that you type that password in (case sensitive). I had the same problem and this worked for me. hope this helps...please rate if it does....thanks. also, you shouldn't have to do anything with your laptop at all. try to use a direct line from your modem if you are using an ethernet cord.
