Fisher & Paykel eco-smart fills but won't spin. I've tried emptying by hand then re-starting. I've tried unplugging, waiting, then advancing to spin. I tried checking for siphon action. I've checked pump under machine. Lid locked light is on but door is not locked. I tried sticking screwdriver in locking mechanism.

wont drain. washes okay then just stops

I have the same problem, but it empties okay after the wash cycle. It doesn't empty after the rinse cycle. So, I'm assuming the pump's okay and that the problem is in the control.

    What do you think?

I have the same problem as noted above. Washer fills and will not spin out. The lid locked light is on and it's not locked. I have tried to unplug the unit becasue I have 2 lights on and it keeps beeping, so I thought unplugging might reset it, but that didn't work. I am sure it is not the pump as I have replaced that on my washer, which is only 4 years old. Help..

Had same problem...fisher paykel ecosmart gwl11
unplugged machine and drained as much water by tipping toward back (with my brother's help) being careful to not let water get into control panel. when weight became manageable, undid hose clamps at bottom of unit to drain rest of the water. brother (electrician) fiddled with some of the wires to the transformer(?) at bottom of machine - he said one was loose-- this seemed to fix the problem.

Needs a new pump and control maybe, its the most common sollution for that problem

My kenmore top load washing machine washes but wont drain or spin

The spinning cycle may be detecting that your tub is unbalanced and will not proceed. Check that it starts and fails when the tub is spinning slowly. Otherwise you may have a faulty drain relay or debris is plugging the drain out hose.

Washer wont operate even with lid shut. I have to push on lid until it starts.

What happens over time is the lid gets a little bent from use , reason it wont start unless lid is put down is because there is a lid switch that is called a safety switch, you might have to bend down lid some or this: Ok, first check under the lid, there is a peg that goes into the top edge of the washer. That is a switch. The idea between this is that it is a safety feature for mostly kids, so that when the washer is on that high speed spin cycle, that a child does not open up lid and stick there arm or hand in and have it injured. Most washer are designed so that the washer will only spin when the washing machine lid is down. So, of course you have it down, but sometimes the lid might have got a little bent or warped. So first try with lid down pushing down on lid while on spin cycle. If still wont spin, most likely it is that switch that that peg goes into, if you take a knife or flat head screw driver, with lid up on spin cycle and push into that hole with the knife or flat head screw driver and do not here a click when pushing it and releasing it, then you need to replace that switch, it is pretty cheep, normally under 20 bucks and a appliance store and when picking up the part they can tell you exactly how to replace it yourself, it is pretty easy and only takes a few minutes. Hope this helps. Mike

My maytag atlantis cycles but wont spin out. It spins slowly then shuts off but leaves wet clothes and water in tub.

First determine whether all the water is pumping out before it goes into spin. If not, check the pump and drain. If its not spinning fast enough with an empty tub check that there isnt any article of clothing caught between the inner and outer tubs or tub top ring. If thats ok check the clutch by turning the main drive pulley CCW. Substantial drag should be felt before the basket overcomes momentum and begins to turn. There is no repair for the clutch on this machine. The transmission must be replaced.

Machine will not spin or drain water.

I have a problem with my MW512AU. Sometimes it drains after wash cycle, but sometimes it sticks when it goes to spin, doesn't get up to speed, water comes on for about 10 seconds and shuts off, and it tries to spin again. If I hit the wash progress switch it goes directly to final spin and works ok. I then have to run a 2nd wash cycle to rinse the clothes. I also noticed a buzzing sound when I turn on the power point, which lasts about 3 seconds before stopping. It will come back on every 3-4 minutes for 30 seconds. This is with the machine power switch off. It powers on normally.

Washer washes and wont spin clothes in either the wash or rinse cycle

If you have little to no agitation (as well as spin), look for a broken motor coupling (connects motor to transmission).
If the motor coupling is ok, open the lid and select a spin cycle, insert a flat screwdriver or pen into the lid switch and try pushing the drum along in a clockwise direction. If it doesn't spin or spins slowly then the brake/clutch assembly is slipping and will need to be replaced.
Good luck!

Shows "LE" in display.

Machine has a bad motor or "stator" on this machine. It is a direct drive winding on the back of the machine. Remove the back panel, the one bolt removes the rotor then you will see the stator winding, replace it and your good to go.
