SOURCE: tascam pocketstudio5

Hello tasbones and razzledog !I expect the following will help you solving the problems with the pattern file of pocketstudio5 (TASCAM):You need the original CD-ROM which includes the pattern file with many different drums and sound stuff. You have to put these data on a formatted cf-card (everytime again if you will use a new card) !This info comes from a german musician who had the same problem 5 years ago.Try the following Link of TASCAM where you can download the manual, an update and the PATTERN FILE !www.tascam.de   --> "Support" --> "download" --> "nicht mehr hergestellte Produkte" --> "pocketstudio5"If this will not work, give me a sign - I will try to send the data to you via mail.freewood/Berlin, Germany

Tascam dp24 with error message: writing failed... playback is fine but I can't record

There are a few steps you may take to troubleshoot and fix the issue if your Tascam DP-24 displays the "writing failed" error message when you're attempting to record:

Verify the disk space on your device to make sure there is adequate room for recording. Writing mistakes may result from a lack of disk space. To make room on a computer, move recordings there or delete superfluous files.

Format the Disk: In some cases, correcting writing errors can be accomplished by formatting the internal hard drive or SD card. When formatting, you should exercise caution because it will remove all of the drive's data. Before continuing, make sure to back up any crucial recordings.

The internal hard disk or SD card must be formatted using a file system that is compatible with the Tascam DP-24. Usually, the device is compatible with the FAT32 or exFAT file systems. If the file system is not supported, writing errors could occur.

Examine your file naming practices. If you have been using certain characters or symbols, try simplifying the names and deleting any special characters. Certain characters could cause the device problems when writing files
.
Update Firmware: See if your Tascam DP-24 has any firmware updates available. Updates to software can occasionally fix flaws and increase the stability of the entire system.

Make sure the input connections and cables are secure and working correctly if you're recording from an external source. Writing mistakes could be caused by a bad cable or connection.

Factory Reset: As a final option, you might think about doing a Tascam DP-24 factory reset. Remember that doing this will reset the device to its factory settings, so make a backup of any crucial information before starting.

Contact Tascam customer service or refer to the device's manual for detailed troubleshooting instructions if none of the aforementioned measures succeed in fixing the problem. They might be able to offer more support or guidance that is suitable for your circumstance.

Take Note: Keep in mind that the particular actions to be taken and the choices you have will depend on the model and firmware version of your Tascam DP-24. Always consult the user guide or contact the manufacturer's assistance for the most accurate and recent troubleshooting procedures.

Went to turn on my Tascam 302, all it does is buzz. If I press a button it looks like it says "err 1". Anyone know what the problem is?

Hello Ken, I was looking in the manuals of Tascam 302 and it does not refer to "ERR 1", it appears "ERR 2" and "ERR 3"
From what you describe, you may have a power supply problem in the low signal area, or have some of the mechanisms out of point, so you can see that the axes are turning
If you have technical features, try disconnecting the multipin cable that feeds the mechanics and check if the noise continues, if it does not appear, go reconnecting each mechanism separately and looking for which generates the problem, could be both, at that point I suggest, consult to a specialized technical service
I hope my comment has served you
Greetings Franco Dosil

I downloaded the contents of my Tascam DR-05 to my computer because it was full, but, instead of doing it as always, by just downloading the soundfiles, I copied the file folder dr005 to my computer,

Eric have you tried to do a "Quick Format"? If I'm not mistaken when that is done, you re-format your card and the small memory in the DR05. I had trouble with mine at first but when I did the formatting after I put the bigger 2GB memory card in the DR05 worked great. I record on "All Files" too, that seems to work well also.
Hope that helps,
Patrick

Error 99 appears in pattern, every time

Not sure about the pattern of errors, but the advice for error 99 diagnosis is to try the following diagnosis steps to isolate the cause of the issue:-
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card.
3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Insert only a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

Does the “ERR 99" message appear? If so, the camera may be faulty and requires a service. If it does not, then: -
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

Does the “ERR 99" message appear? If so, then the CF card is faulty. Try a different card. If the message does not appear: -
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the gold contacts on the lens by GENTLY rubbing them with a pencil eraser or soft cloth. Keeping the camera face pointing down, also clean the gold contacts on the camera, being careful that you do not let any debris fall into the camera body.
3. Reattach your lens.
4. Turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

If the “ERR 99" message only appears when one particular lens is attached, then that lens should be examined by a service technician.
If you see the “ERR 99" with a different Canon lens attached, then the camera is faulty and should be serviced.

Memory poor

This is an error in Tascam's code that usually means 'out of disk space'. Try using 'delete unused' to free up some space first within the song you're on and after that you might consider backing up some songs to your PC and then deleting them from the DP-01 to free up more disk space.

Hope this helps.

Tascam Portastudio DP-1FX/CD When I turn it on I get this message. Err: 12 Please PWR OFF

This is basically an error message which indicates that the Tascam timed out while waiting for the drive to spin up. Usually an issue with the drive motor not getting the correct amount of power.

Primary suspect is usually the power adapter.

Tascam midi and audio conflict error

Hi,
First try turning off the onboard audio device using the BIOS interface. Try pressing f4, f2 or delete key rapidly at the flash screen beginning when you first turn on the computer. Look around in the bios (usually in "integrated periperals" area) and disable any onboard audio options that you see.
-In windows XP you can go to Control panel - Sound Devices and change the "map through" feature, select your default device, and run a hardware test simulation with a microphone for each device. Nice setup btw.
