My bobbin thread keeps getting tangled and breaking everytime I try and sew....I have tried rethreading the bobbin, taking everything apart and cleaning out the dust and debris, I have adjusted the thread tension but I don't know how to adjust the bobbin tension. Which screw do I adjust? Or do I need to oil the machine? I don't know!

There is a screw on the side of the bobbin case, which needs to be turned to the left or counter clockwise to loosen the tension and also change the needle because a burr on the end will cause problems with bobbin thread

Bobbin keeps tangling up as soon as I start to sew.

Are you getting thread "messbarf" under the fabric? Try this:

Replace with a brand new needle.
Remove the top thread completely from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread the top thread.
Check the bobbin--is the thread kind of messy? Try a different one.
Make sure the bobbin case is threaded correctly and the bobbin is installed turning the correct direction.

You may also try changing the top tension.
Wrap the top thread tail around your left index finger a couple of times and then take a couple of stitches.

Try a different brand of thread--some machines hate some thread brands.

If these don't help, then you may need to take it for service.

What kind of thread are you trying to use? Is it a decent fresh thread? If, it is old, throw it out and buy some fresh quality thread. Usually, cheap thread is the problem.

Thread keeps getting stuck in bobbin holder area

Unthread your machine, clean out the bobbin area and brush it, then totally rethread your machine. Make sure that there are no tangles in your thread. Try that, good luck

Bobbin tangling

Sounds like the bobbin is spinning to fast or is winded to loose. Try adjusting the tension on the bobbin.

Thread breaks

Hi!

Check to see if the lower thread be tangled. Also, the bobbin could be threaded improperly in the shuttle hook. Rethread the bobbin in the shuttle hook.
How to detangle a thread---

  • When a machine stops operation due to tangled thread, do not turn the pulley by force.
If the pulley is turned by force then, lower thread might not be picked up correctly and stitches might not be formed correctly.

  • If threads get tangled, remove a needle plate and cut the tangled threads by scissors or cutter.
  • Do rate the solution if you find it helpful & useful.

    Thanks

Bobbin tangles up thread and jams machine

Hi, Is it your bobbin thread or the top thread wrapping around the bobbin. I just got a used PE150. The top thread keeps wrapping around the bobbin. It is not picking up the bobbin thread. Did you find a solution for your problem?
