Runs when PTS held but shuts off when released/no heat

I have a Kenmore Elite Electric Dryer.
Dryer only runs (drum turns and air flows) when pushing start button.
Shuts off when start button is released.
While holding this start button to run dryer no heat is produced.
Checked heating element for Continuity(yes) and any Shorts(no).
Checked Thermal fuse (has continuity)
Checked high-limit thermostat (also has continuity)
Checked voltage coming in and each line to ground have 124V to ground and 240 across lines
the only thing thats unusual is the fact that the start button pushes in starting as normal but when released the dryer shuts down.
All ducting are clean and free flowing.
This is really a puzzler and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance-ShockMan

No problem at all.The motor has a start and run winding.Your run winding is bad.The reason you have no heat is the run winding has to run to close the contacts on the motor switch.Replace the motor ,both problems solved. Hope this helps Please rate my response :)

Kenmore elite electric dryer runs but then gets hot and then shuts off, replaced thermal fuse, dryer vent and tubing not plugged, dryer runs gets hot blows thermal fuse again.

DRYER OVERHEATING:

Heating Element
A defective heating element can make a dryer too hot. If the element partially shorts out, it can produce heat all the time, regardless of whether the dryer is calling for heat. Remove the heating element to inspect it. The coils should not be touching each other or anything else.

Other Causes and Conditions
Air Flow Problem
Dryers need good ventilation to work properly. If the vent is clogged it can make the dryer too hot. Clean all of the vent tubing thoroughly.

Cycling Thermostat
Although not common, a defective cycling thermostat can make the dryer too hot. The cycling thermostat is supposed to turn on and off the heat to maintain the proper temperature. If the thermostat is defective it may keep the heat on too long. The thermostat is not adjustable or repairable, it must be replaced.

Felt Seal
Most dryers have a felt seal at the front and rear of the drum to keep the heat inside the drum. If the felt seal is worn away or missing, the dryer may keep heating and make the dryer too hot. This is not common.

Blower Wheel
A defective blower wheel will not spin properly and will not vent the hot air, making the dryer too hot. Check to see if there is adequate airflow out of the dryer.

GE dryer starts but..... stops

What you describe is either a failed evenheat board or a failed motor relay.
Please post the complete model number from the machine and I can help you narrow it down. There should be a wiring diagram inside the console with voltage checks also.

110.86427100 - 64271 Kenmore electric dryer .. runs normal with no blockage of air flow and there is heat but maybe not enough ?? Definately not doing the job as it normally did..

if you have the unit more then 4-5 years you better get it maintain , b/c there are several seal around the drum that ware off and the heat just leak out from the drum and the unit feal like it less heating well.

Kenmore Elite 73942 Gas Dryer only runs with start button held

Unplug the dryer. Open the control console.Mark and remove the wires from the start switch.
Using a volt meter set for continuity, touch meter leads to R1 and R2 while pushing the switch. No reading is a bad switch.
Touch meter leads to R2 and CT1. No reading is a bad switch.
If the switch checks out good the start windings in the motor are bad.
