Sorry, but the USB cable is only for downloading photos to the computer, and the 300 series cameras do not have an on-board charging function. If you wish to use rechargeable batteries (Polaroid recommends Ni-MH type only) you must purchase and use an external charger. Inexpensive generic chargers can be purchased in the electronics department of most stores.

Not Charging

Page 18 of the manual says: Only use cable and AC power adapter, delivered with your camera to charge the battery. If you use another adapter, or cable the camera battery could not charge or not work properly.
The manual, does not indicate you should be able, or you could charge the battery, when you connect it to a computer. And although on the outside a cable can look the same, it would be better you use the original cable, that came with the camera. Make sure you switch off the camera before charging and check if all contacts in the camera and on the cable are clean and not bent.

My camera is not getting charged. why is it happening?

How are you trying to charge the camera? If you're connecting it to your computer, try using the adapter to plug it into a wall outlet. Not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries, especially if you're going through a hub.

As for download pictures to your computer, try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Nikon s6300 won't turn on

Coolpix Cameras are tricky to use with chargers. I will assume your USB Charger EH-69P is 100 - 240V 50/60 Hz so it CAN work in many places around the world with an adapter. Do not go over 240V or you could damage it.

These cameras like to have the power supply connected when it is on to charge - meaning if you have it connected and you plug the charger in the wall it will NOT charge. So if you plug the charger in the wall first and then plug the cable in the camera it will work. The camera is actually ON when it charges and I never REMOVE the memory card when it is ON.

When you have a dead battery. Plug the camera in and make sure the ON LED lights and the Charge LED flashes. Then don't mess with it. Let it charge completely (Charge LED stops flashing and is OFF) and then unplug it. It will turn off. Then later you can turn it on.

Nokia coolpix p100 wont charge

In General. Nikon Coolpix cameras TURN ON when you change them. This means when you plug in USB with a computer the camera turns on and the computer sees it.

If you turn the camera ON. And the Battery indicator shows "FULL CHARGE" you may NOT be able to charge it.

To eliminate variables. Do not charge with the computer until you charge with the adapter (wall charger). When the wall charger works then try the computer.

Look at page 145 in your manual for Computer charging.

Make sure your date and time are set in the camera.

Make sure it NEEDS a charge.

Camera will not charge

I hope you're not trying to charge the camera by plugging it into your computer. While some cameras work that way, your camera requires that you charge the battery in the supplied battery charger.

I just bought the camera and am trying to charge it. I am not getting an LED light but instead a blue screen that says "MSDC" in white letters. I have checked the battery and storage disk...

Are you charging it by plugging it into a computer? The "MSDC" you see usually means "Mass Storage Device Class", which basically means the computer is using the storage on the camera as a removable drive. This would usually happen when plugging a camera into the computer via USB. There is usually an AC adapter that comes with a camera, or a separate charger for just the battery. If there was no charger that came with it, the camera is probably still charging. If the camera is on, try turning it off and plugging it in. Remember, even if it shows "MSDC", it is probably still charging. Hope this helps!

Do you leave camera on as it is charging through computer for the Kodak Easyshare M753 Camera?

Hi it dont need to be on whilst charging, some cameras will switch themselves on when you plug them into the computer, but you can still turn it off, now you need to bare in mind that unless you are using a powered usb port is one that plugs into the mains then into your computer you may have problems charging the camera enough through the computers own usb port, it may still charge so you will have to try some cameras will just power up enough to enable you to transfer pictures onto your computer.

give it a try and see how you get on, it wont matter if the camera is on or off whilst plugged into computer how ever it will charge quicker with the camera off if it will even charge at all
