Yes the repair kit called the ITC222 and ITC222A convergence option missing repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com should solve that issue. The kit contains the components and the CD with instructions.
OK on same circuit board as fuse up on the front part of board look at capacitor cp150 if it is swollen or puffed up it is bad 2200uf 16v use 25v and replace 2 other capacitors in same area cp114 cp120 220uf 35v.
I don't know anything about fuses but I found a site that has instructions and fix it kit for $25. I just ordered one for my TV so I can't say much about it yet
Vertical Ic will be on right side of FBT flyback transfomer also there is a 1ohm feed resistor ck it and next to vert ic ck capacitors 100uf 35v, 2.2uf 50v .
are you still having this prob? i am having a similar prob with the same brand of tv. if you had yours fixed please help me with mine.
i think it is the convergence ic. i need three ic but the distributer will nit sell no less than ten of them. if you or anyone need any of those ic i could let you some for the same unit price i bought them. posted 09/02/2009
This time it came in on the cable, the clue was the cable box also blew. So if you had a cable surge supression device...for HDTV, I think you would have survived the second surge.
I do have the technology. It is a F-connector type and will handle HDTV signal.
I have the exact same problem with my tv. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what is wrong or how to fix it either. I notice your post is from July. Have you found a solution since then?
