My aprilair 760 is connecting to Trane furnace and using the trane thermostat to control the humidifier. On the thermostat, the humidify is showing at 25-27% most of the time during winter time. I am in Virginia, is this humidity is too dry for inside the house?
Not sure whether the humdifer is working? I did not hear the fan noise or did not see any water drip under the humidifier to the drane pipe.
How do I know my aprilair 760 humidifier is working?
Thanks
A simple check you can perform on your aprilaire 760 is the following:
1) locate the two brown wires coming out of the 760 (these wires will be wired to tell the 760 to turn on when the hvac bower is on and the humidistat is calling for moisture).
2) temprarily disconnect the two brown wires from the external wiring and then short the wires together. All you're doing here is bypassing the your thermostat and bower-on indicator.
With the 70 unit plugged in to the wall outlet and the two brown wires connected together, both the fan and the solenoid valve (water inlet valve) should both be activated.
Can you give a basic description of how the wiring should be connected. For example, the brown wires on the bottom of the 700 should be connected to ....
Thanks for your advice, this is helpful. I located the wires, connected them together and nothing happens. I know that the unit is getting power but the fan doesn't spin and the valve doesn't open. What do I do now? Thanks...
