Blank screen I ve tried different cords, even tried it on my laptop same thing happens it goes black afer a few seconds. Whats wrong with it?

• Nothing is more annoying than a monitor that refuses to turn on. Make sure your Acer monitor is plugged in to a functioning outlet. If it's plugged into a power strip, try replacing it with a new one or moving the plug to a different outlet. This can also happen if your graphics card driver is missing on your operating system, but you said you tried the monitor on another machine, so I narrowing it down to most likely be the data cable. Try another cable.

Viewsonic VA1918wm-2 . Screen goes black after 2 to 3 seconds . Have check on other pc , with different VGA cable .....same thing happened.

I have a Garmin 255 myself. And what I have found is, MOST of the time, the problem is that the CHARGER CABLE has an intermittent connection in it! So, when the cable moves, flexes, or stretches, the battery charge STOPS, and the (mostly discharged) battery cannot support the load, so the unit blacks out and turns off. Try S-L-O-W-L-Y moving the cable while connected with the unit on, and watch for evidence of a bad cable! Sometimes a DIRTY (trapezoid- shaped) connector will do the same thing!

You say the laptop all of a sudden flashed off.

How old is the laptop? You may have suffered one of two things? First of all, if the hard drive will not boot back up, even after using the recovery discs, then that would explain it powering off. I have seen this happen on old desktop hard drives.

Next, try to get the transformer or adapter tested. It may not be putting out enough amperage to run the laptop.

Are you running on battery or AC? Try using the power cord, remove the battery and see if it continues. I have seen a battery that is on its last legs do some weird things to a computer. Also, check your power management setting. Control panel, power, and set the computer to "always on" just to see if it could be a power management setting. If none of this works, i would back up all your files, and try to reload win xp from scratch.

Try some antivirus

unplug everything from your laptop unplug the power from the laptop close it and turn it over remover the battery open and hold the on button(battery is still removed) for a 10 count, replace the battery
turn on you can plug the power cord if needed the prob. should be fixed

try getting a new battery
charge it while its off!
when the charge LED goes off its done..

CANNOT COMPUTE!!!! NEED MORE DATA! Is your monitor the problem or the computer? Try connecting the monitor to another computer. You can also try connecting a laptop with an external video adaptor to the monitor to test it.
