Yes, if you use the S-Video output on your laptop to the input on the receiver, then another S-Video cable from the Monitor Out port on the receiver to an S-Video port on your TV. Then select the appropriate source on the TV and receiver.

Be reminded that this receiver will not convert the signal from S-Video to composite video (the yellow cable) nor from composite video to S-Video.

Also be reminded that S-Video will pass only video, not audio. You need a seperate cable to go from a 3.5mm headphone stereo jack to 2 RCA composite audio plugs.

HDMI flashing screen on Onkyo TX-SR674 receiver need advice on how to solve this problem

Hi Zach, you can try the following reset as this might be a glitch in the processor.

To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings., Thanks, JT

Onkyo tx-nr509 Receiver not talking to Panasonic TV TX-L42E31B

Hello, I am sorry about your issue. If the cable is long from the receiver to the TV it may cause video issues. Please try a reset of the receiver by pressing and holding vcr/dvr and then on/standby. When display shows clear let go. The receiver will shut down. Turn back on and test. This procedure will take the receiver back to factory defaults. Thank you, CB

Display doesn't light up on Onkyo TX-DS595 reciever

try to connect the receiver to a tv via the monitor out from the receiver to the tv. you may be able to see the OSD (on screen display of your settings) change the function on that to turn on the front display. alternatively look on your remote to see if you can turn up the light of the front display.

if these don't work possible that the light of the display has blown

Home Theater Receiver keeps Shutting Down

Have you tried a different input on your TV? HDMI communicates both ways. You could have an issue with the input port on the TV. Try using Component. If you still have issues post a reply and we can dig further into it. Hope this helps

Subtitle Problem: Onkyo TX-sr605

The only remote that will definitely turn the sat subtitles on/off is the sat remote. The other subtitle buttons on the other remotes refer to the DVD subtitles and the subtitles generated by the tuner in the tv. The subtitle option is greyed out on the tv because you are not on the tv tuner.
