To set you computer back to factory fresh settings you will need to format the hard drive and reinstall the operatins system and the drivers. You will need to have the CD's that either you made when you got your computer or if your lucky you got the CD's that the factory furnished with the computer at the time you bought it.
1. Format the hard drive: You do this by double left clicking on "My Computer",then double left click the main drive (normally C drive). When the window pops open, you will choose "Format" Keep in mind that once you format your hard drive you will loose all your files, programs, pictures, etc that you installed since the computer was new. So make your back up on a portable hard drive, thumb drive, etc.
2. Once the formatting of the hard drive is complete you will need to reinstall the operating system along with the drivers. That will bring your computer back to factory new condition as far as operating is concerned. Please take time to rate me
It sounds like a power cord issue could be the problem, as you have confirmed that the power cord is not working using a volt meter. However, it is also possible that the power supply in the MSI u100 netbook has failed, which would prevent it from turning on even with a working power cord. Additionally, the fact that the Seagate hard drive also failed and was warm to the touch suggests that there may have been a power surge or other electrical issue that caused both devices to fail. It would be best to take your netbook to a professional repair shop to diagnose and repair the problem.
Hello my friend, this is looks like the windows is corrupted and your windows cannot boot ,maybe this is caused by a virus, you can try reinstalling the windows but i don't recommend it if its a virus problem.I recommend you formatting your computer or restore your laptop to factory settings. The last one it depends on laptop some have special restore partitions on the hard drive, usually you press alt+F10,F10,F11 or F12 after powering on the laptop, and it goes into a restore program that wipes your drive and returns the laptop back to the way it was when you first purchased it. Note all your programs and data will be deleted if you restore the computer.
