I have a 1999 honda odyssey, the radio needs to have the reset number put in, but it says radio err.. anyway to reset it so i can put in the code??

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for at least 30 seconds? Other than that, the computer can be reset using an OBDII code reader plugged into your DTC socket under the dash (Autozone will do that without charge). That should move the radio from Err to Code.

Yes if you have the code and the display reads error then you need to reset the audio unit. to reset you can disconnect the neg and pos battery cables hold them so they are touching each other for approx 30 seconds. reinstall cables and the error message on the audio unit sounds be cleared and you can now enter you code. if it still reads error then there may be internal damage to the audio unit- hope this helps

My odyssey 2003 is showing code err for the entertainment

Does the radio work at all. or is the cd player the only issue.? most of the time you need to enter a radio code to unlock the radio. If you enter it wrong to many times it will display error on the display.if you dont know the code then you can call the dealership and get the code after you do the following below to get the serial number.
Press and hold 1 and 6 on the radio while still holding the 1 and 6 press the power button. At this time it will read off serial number

Had my battery changed and now radio isn't working. It says err. Is there a code to plug in? 1999 honda accord. Thanks ...

Yes there is a code, most dealerships put the code in the manuel for the car it would be four numbers long usually in ink pen. If not contact any honda dealership and they will give you the number to call so you can get the correct code you will need proof of ownership, vin registration drivers license to prove it is not a stolen radio.

Finding the code for the radio on a 1999 honda odyssey

Code is at the back of the radio. You have to remove the radio and read the number at the back. Look for a five or six-digit code, e.g. something like 14357. Put the radio back in and then use the front number buttons on the radio to enter the code. That's it. I wish that Honda had put the number on the front or somewhere more accessible!

Resetting radio code

You need to be very careful Each failed attempt causes a long delay before you can enter it again. Follow the instructions exactly. You may need to use the car for a day or more before attempting it again if you failed too many times. The radio should say CODE not ERROR. Error means no code can be entered now. You must wait until the radio displays CODE.

Need to input my radio code on 2005 Honda Civic

ok your radio displays ERR , OK 3 options let it sit for an hour turned on , to reture to CODE display , or pull the radio fuse out for a minute and put it back in , returning to the CODE display , or disconnect the battery for a minute , returning to the CODE display . you got the ERR display because the code was wrong or not entered correctly , make your choice of getting the radio back to the CODE display by 1 of those 3 choices , while the radio displays CODE , use the preset buttons , if the first number of your code is 4 , then press the #1 preset button 4 time , when the first number has been input , put the 2nd number in by pressing the #2 prest button , if 2nd number of code is 8 , press the # 2 preset button 8 times till the # 8 is displayed , and so on . you see where this is giong ? when you have entered all the numbers correctly you will have you radio back . when you say you have the radio code , good luck ! were rooting for ya .
