Ford Focus radio/cd player. FM goes off for no reason , then comes back on, on its own. Switching it on and off does not make any difference. Checked supply voltage all ok as is the earth. Joe

Worth checking whether it's not just traffic news coming on. The volume level is independent to the normal level and if you've lowered the volume at some point in the past it will remember that level.

Battery died replaced battery but now the radio will not turn on a 2005 Ford Focus AM/FM radio with cd player. the fuse has not been blown, if I have to replace the radio does it need to be with a ford...

Quick and free fix sir or maam. The radio locks up when the battery is removed on today's cars.I don't know who decided to start it but it is somewhat stupid...I think anyhow. All you have to do is call a Ford dealer and they will give you the code and method to unlock your stereo.Write it down because your battery may get disconnected for many other reasons than a dead battery when repaired.I am pretty sure they just need the VIN.You can put aftermarket stereos in too if you ever want to.Good luck! How do you remove am/fm cd player from 2005 ford focus

There is a plastic "plate" surrounding your CD player; on the back of this "plate" there are 4 plastic guide/retainer pins about 3/4 of an inch long. Generally located in the 4 corners of the "plate." With that in mind, using a taped-up, flat-headed screw driver(tape the flat end as to not scratch the interior trim) and simply and ever so lightly, pry the coin dish(below the "plate" mentioned above)out and away from the dash, opening a hand sizes hole. From that hole using the same screw-driver, using the same technique, remove the plate; being oh so careful because the temp control knobs, cig lighter, etc, come out attached to the "plate."
You will notice, I believe, 4 small octagonal plastic bolt heads protruding from the area right next to the player......remove those bolts, unplug radio and whalll-laah..

Turn the radio off first and then disconnect the battery for 2 min then reconnect the battery. This should reset your radio and then you can eject your CD, and reset your stations and clock. Good luck

My battery recently died in my 2007 focus hatch and after jumping it off the car would start however the radio/cd player would not turn on. I thought nothing of it until i replaced the battery and the...

My radio can be on even without the key in (01 focus) maybe the radio is directly wired to the battery cable and your wire has been fried or damaged from the 'jumping'. You may want to carefully inspect the little wires attached to your actual battery connectors.

That's my guess.

Unable to get AM radio on the Ford Blaukpunkt CD radio

fm needs a much shorter aerial to work than am.if the antenna is broken or missing, the am can go out.barring that, the radio is no good .the trim panel on the front pops off and there is 4 bolts holding in the radio.there are 3 plugs on back and the antenna cable.check that it is plugged in.
