Question about Philips TP3284C 32" TV

1 Answer

Power light blinks repeatedly on my Philips TP3284C

I'm not exactly sure what caused the TV to do this but, it will no longer turn on. You can hear the relay click, but the tube does not try to turn on. The power light just blinks continuously until unplugged. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you hold power button for 3 seconds it gives five blinks repeatedly. Actually if I press any other button (Chan/Vol), power light comes on (click) and goes back off (click). There is nothing damaged on the circuit board either. Could someone tell me how to check the HOT to see if it is damaged?

Power indicator light only blinks "red" 7 times and repeats. Is it a power supply problem? no OSD. nothing

I had similar problem with my panasonic tv, turned out to be a fan failure causing power supply to shut down due to overheating, Also could be a capacitor fault in the power supply.

Blinking power and opc leds on front of unit

From the information you have provided failed capacitors in the power supply is likely causing the problem. The safety circuitry shuts the TV set down when it detects a problem. This model of TV has over 2,000 parts which include millions of transistors inside the integrated circuits. The capacitors will change value, leak and become defective. Resistors will change value and burn. Integrated circuits and transistors can go bad. This can cause other components to become defective, which can have a domino effect and cause other parts to fail. Replacing one defective part may make the TV operate for a short time but the part will fail again since if the parts that caused the failure to begin with are not replaced. The only way to know for sure what is causing the problem, which parts that are no longer within factory specs and for proper repair all the electronics must be diagnosed by someone with the correct electronic test equipment and the skills to use the test equipment. The repair should cost about $250 if carried into a TV repair shop. A small TV repair shop will often charge less than a large repair facility.

Philips 42PF7220A 42 in. Plasma

I had a Similar problem where I would turn the tv on and the green light would come on and then the red would follow and blink 7 times. I tried unplugging it and then then replugging it back and it would still do the same. What I did last night was that I unplugged it and then replugged it back, when I saw the green light, I would unplug it again, till the light went out and replugged it, I did that 3 times in a row, and waiting and it came back on. Hope that works. I still don't know what caused the problem to begin with..
