Re:
Squeeling may be the belt caused by the pump failing . roll the belt off and see if pump turns freely . and forget about what i told you albot the removal of agit . i don't think anything is under it . mm

Check with the belt off that the bowl will turn freely, if not check drum bearings or something caught between inner & outer bowl. Make sure when you fit new belt it is adjusted to the right tension or it will slip & burn.
You will need to replace the belt on the machine. This is a fairly easy job, just go to an appliance repair shop, tell them the model number and they will get you a new belt. Then lay teh macine on its side and replace the belt. There should be a routing diagram on the washer, and if not you can get on online.
i lifted up the top and unscrewed the front of my maytag dyer pye4500ayw a very thin belt was at the bottom. who do i replace this belt and where does it go?
It could be just a dry belt and pulley.
You could try the old squeeking car fan belt trick and rub soap on the belt. You can even buy sticks of anti-squeek from automobile outlets.
