Hi. This code is the result of a shorted, or open(circuit) oven temperature sensor device. You will need to Check the sensor harness and harness connection between the oven sensor and oven control. Replace the oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

Maytag gas oven has an F1 code. Model # CGR3740ADW.

The F1 code on a Maytag electric stove means the electronic range control, clock or touch pad is defective. You or a technician can do a test to determine which item is broken, but you must replace the electronic clock range in models where the touch pad and range control are one part.

Oven beeps and display read "F3". what does this mean?

Hi dpaulthomas,

The F3 fault code description is a shorted or open oven temperature sensor. The easiest way to resolve this error is to check the sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. If you noticed that the wiring is all ok, replace the oven temperature sensor (RTD).

Hope it helps.

My Magic Chef gas oven is flashing F3 and beeping. The model # is CGR3740ADW. I think that means a bad sensor, but how do I figure out which sensor and how to replace it? If I had some diagrams or...

There is only one sensor. Look inside the oven on the top right or left rear. The sensor is about 3 inches long, metal and about the size of a thin pencil. It will be held in by one or 2 screws. Unplug the range. Remove the sensor and disconnect the wires. Use a volt meter set for ohms. It should read 1100 ohms plus or minus 50 ohms. If it reads more or less replace it.
If you have no meter just replace the sensor. It is bad if the control says it is bad.
