GARAGE FRIDGE DIED...IS IT THE COLD?

I have this fridge in my garage and it all of the sudden died..no light, no nothing. Is it equipped with some sort of shut off sensor if it becomes too cold in the garage that it is in? Our temps are in the single digits...

No it has no sensor it sounds like the circuit breaker has tripped or the is no power at the plug..try plugging a radio or lamp in to the plug to test

I'm in Mass and also buried in several feet of snow, so I have an idea how cold it is in your garage. As a matter of fact, you don't run a compressor in cold outdoor weather, which is basically what you're doing. AC units that were meant to run outdoors have a compressor heater, your fridge doesn't have one.

Had a fridge freezer in garage. Just found that

more than likely the defroster inside the freezer has gone bad. This defroster is located in the space between the fridge and freezer and activates to defrost the freezer and stop build up of ice in the freezer.. If it is bad the freezer will not keep the fridge nor freezer cold.

Frigidaire Freezer Runs Warm in Cold Weather

hi there the problem you have is that the temp in the garage is to low, the fridge part of your fridge freezer has priority and will only activate the compressor when req'd ie. in cold weather the fridge may not need to switch on the compressor for days at a time this is when the freezer will defrost.
All you can try doing is having some very low heating in your garage in the cold weather

hope this is of help.
