Wont spin cycle at full speed

Kenmore stackable washing/dryer machine. The model is a bit hard to get at right now. The agitator mode works fine, but the spin cycle mode will only go to half speed. If left to run, a burning smell will develope. Is this most likely a clutch? If so can a highly mechanically inclined person replace this themselves? Please help : )

Burning smell is a slipping belt. These are tricky to get apart and diagnose but find the reason the belt is slipping and replacing it will solve your problem. Could be clutch, bearing or gearcase related.

Hi everyone, my Kenmore 970-c94812 stackable washer-dryer won't spin on washing cycle..!

Pretty much the same cause for all washers, just not exactly the same one as yours. Probably have to lean it over carefully to get under it to get to the coupler. https://youtu.be/_fHoAjOmHDU hope this helps

Stackable kenmore model 41794702300

We have had that happen too. You will need to take out what ever has blocked the valve on the drain. Ours was a bobby pin! My model is a bit different but if you follow the drain hose underneath you can find it. Remember you are dealing with lots of water. I think I scooped out the water first and have some towels ready. Or hire somebody to do it for you. I hope that helps.
